I am being told by a dealer that the Viva 250 can utilize Honda Reflex / Helix parts. Engine-transmission etc.
anyone know this for a fact. anyone know anything about the Viva.
They listed for $ 3,600.00 at this dealer in May. He has two left and will sell both to me for $ 2,800 each which includes tax-title. sounds like a great deal.

Twister,
Viva is another Chinese made 250. Not sure about the Honda parts being interchangeable. $3600 for these is way too high of a price even for a brick n' mortar dealer, however $2800 for two seems like a good deal. You might want to ask Russ553 about the Viva 250. He has one. BTW I thought you were getting two Reflex's?

my plan right now is (1) reflex for the wife and (1) Bergman 400 for me. That could change. Since I decided to upgrade I just can't decide what to get for sure. The Viva just looked like a deal @ $ 5600 for two out the door. Qualty concerns me on these and the seat is hard but so is the Kymco.

Oh I thought you meant $2800 for two. I don't think $2800 per unit is that good of a deal. I mean you are getting dealer support but these can be had online for about $2K.

twister; Can you provide a link to a picture and specs on a Viva 250? Is it the body style of the Helix or Tank Touring/Roketa Bali? If it is like the Bandit (link below), I think $2,800 is a little steep. www.bandit-motorsports.com/scooters/lx-250z.html

Scooterollie, I am pretty sure the Viva 250 has the Tank Touring 250 body style which makes $2800 even more steep because the link you provided is the CF Moto Fashion 250 body style and those are a bit higher priced than the TT250 body types. Russ553 has a Viva 250 and his avatar has a pic of the scoot in question. The pic is a little hard to see but it looks like the TT250 body to me. scootdawg.proboards59.com/index.cgi?action=viewprofile&user=russ553

Twister does it look like a Helix or not?? $2800 for the Helix clone from a dealer isn't bad most Helix clones are CFMotos. If it's a 250 like the Touring models everyone else has $2800 is high.

it is a tank touring 250 body style. In fact doing a search for the Viva 250, Tank 250 keeps showing it's head. The mirrors on this thing would have to be replaced. they suck and can't be adjusted. It is made I am told by CF Moto.
I think I just decided again to go with Honda - Suzuki. I want Q U A L I T Y. ;D

russ; Just as I thought. Only thing special about the $2800 price tag is how much profit the seller is making. It may be worth a little extra to purchase from a "Brick-n-Mortar" for proper setup and service but you can buy that scoot for $2K, maybe less on a special.
Stan Jessup has said that many of the engine/drive train components on the CFMoto powered scoots are interchangeable with Honda parts. Don't know about all the way down to pistons, connecting rods, bearings, etc. I was told by CFMoto that they use American and Japanese parts in their engine to ensure quality.
Most of the 250s coming in to the U.S. are using the CFMoto engine with the 10" rear tire, just like Honda. The other alternative is a scoot with the Linhai-Yamaha engine/drive train. Check the link below for the SuperStrada SS300. This is an interesting scoot with a few more CCs and HP than on the Honda clone engine. Quality is said to be a cut above the typical Tank and Roketa offering. I can't verify that as I have not seen or ridden one. They have been out as long as the current CFMoto 250 crop of scoots but apparently have not sold as well because of the higher price. Like I said on another thread here, I think you will see some good prices on these as they try to clear out the '06 inventory. They have already dropped a few hundred.

Twister; The tank as far as I can tell . Is a copy of the Honda helix drive train I've been told that 1992 helix parts will fit it straight up. Also Jacar enterprises out in Calif has every part for the tt250 in stock and ready to go. That's body parts chaise parts and the entire drive train. He claims he can FedEx ya' anything you need in about 4 day's.If this turns out not to be true then I have been misled. I affirm that too the best of my knowledge this is the case. Real tank's are going for about 2200usd Viva's ,rocketa's 1700 to about 2100-2200usd Baron's look to be the same bikes for about ooh 3000usd I won't give them that for one but others have. Scooterollie has written at length about his scooter and prep for them. If you got the money go ahead and buy from the big 4. But with some prep and elbow grease you can accomplish the same ends for a lot less money. And after all there are many happy tank owners hear....slowfire

The Tank and Viva are not manufactured by CFMoto. The engine is however. Haven't had a chance to ride a CFMoto product yet but I have seen them and the build quality is twice as good as Tank......IMHO

Sounds like the salesman is not knowlegeable. The Helix and Reflex have different engines. They are not interchangeable as far as I know. If they are not, then he should tell you which one is like the one in the scooter that is for sale.
