Any other Honda Reflex riders out there? I moved up from my 125cc Chinese scoot, but I think moving to the Reflex boards would actually be a step down.....too much practical info here to give it up. No matter where it's built, the basic mechanicals are similar. Plus I'd miss the good company....

A pretty machine, & nice engine size, ....& yep from what I can tell about the same mechanicals.

be honest on the reflex:
1. top speed with your weight at = ?
2. speed loss uphill ?
3. long haul at what speed ?
4. can you go 60 miles at 65 MPH without over working the engine ?

be honest on the reflex: 1. top speed with your weight at = 200 lb, don't know top speed, I've only been to 65 mph. Haven't traveled anywhere with a speed limit over 55 mph yet. 2. speed loss uphill--minimal, if any, but hills were very moderate. 3. long haul at what speed?--Don't know. Didn't get it for long hauls. I drive a 10 mile distance (one way) often--longer distance seldom. Felt like it would run all day at 65, if that's any help. 4. can you go 60 miles at 65 MPH without over working the engine? Based on how it acted at 65 mph on shorter distance, probably yes, but again, I haven't driven distances like that with it. Other honest bits: It really doesn't like strong crosswinds. You would really need something heavier, I think, for long distances with wind, regardless of speed. It really does get 70 mpg, at least how I drive it. I guess I should get out and push it harder this weekend so I can give a better report

thanks for the reply. going to upgrade from the 150. I think we should have the Bergman 400 but my wife is afraid of it because of the size. thought she might do better on the reflex.

Twister; I really like the styling of the reflex I think its gorgeous. The fit and finish of both Honda and kymco are close to my eyes anyway. However the lowly tank is delivering about the same level of performance for about half the money. with my body weight tools and work bag on broad I'm using around 350lbs of its 400 lb rated capacity and yet it will run 65mph all day. 70 is pushing it a bit but 55-65 is fine. hills just open up the throttle and go. When I ride to work it's a 88mi commute round trip. Have to stop every 30min or so to get the blood flow back going in the backside. I'd really like too run with the big bike's but I'm about a 1000cc's short. But know kidding' I'm amazed at what it will do with only 14cu.in. slowfire

twister, ...take a look at the Kymco 250s. Less $$. Comparable quality/features. I have the B400, and played chase with a Kymco GrandVista250 last summer. Very!! comparable acceleration from 0 to 60. People 250 has big wheels. If I was shopping for a new scoot today, I'd probably go for the GV250 instead of the B400. Less $$, less weight, same squirt off the line. The GV250 has more trunk space than the People250, but less than the B400

You confused me for a minute when you said "GV250" as that's the model designation for the Alphasports 250cc cruiser motorcycle (a nice machine by the way), then I realized you meant the Kymco Grand Vista.

be honest on the reflex: 1. top speed with your weight at = 145 lb naked, but I usually ride wearing stuff. on flat highway, no head wind, 85 by speedo with a running start probably closer to 80 actual. 2. speed loss uphill over 75 by speedo uphill 3. long haul at what speed I ride 70 to 85 by speedo for hour trips with some regularity. No prob. 4. can you go 60 miles at 65 MPH without over working the engine ? I did 600 miles in one 16 hour day (about 6 breaks). Boston to Newport, VT and back. Engine ran cool the whole time. Most of the ride was in the 60's. I finished with the final stretch from Manchester, NH to Lynnfield, Ma in the 70's. You can't kill a Honda Scooter. This bike has over 14,000 miles on it. I have changed oil, tires, and drive belt (at 12,000 miles). I do not baby this bike. don't have to. Comfy and lots of space under the seat and in the glove box. Leader Lynnfield, Ma.

Over here in Taiwan it is the GD250, Grand Dink. They changed the name to sell it in the States. Scooter Dealer: Which do ya want, the Dink or the Wussi? You confused me for a minute when you said "GV250" as that's the model designation for the Alphasports 250cc cruiser motorcycle (a nice machine by the way), then I realized you meant the Kymco Grand Vista.

I personally wouldn't buy anything over the internet. seen too many screw jobs. I just went to West Virginia along with a friend that bought a 1976 GoldWing on E-Bay. He paid a $400 deposit with the balance due on pickup. The thing was a piece of junk. It did come with a box full of parts however. He will still be fixing it in the spring.

Hy twister; just thought I'd chime in again. just wanted to reiterate that I think Dr Jeff is really a quality human Being . His Honda is just fabulous. If you don't want too risk going on the cheap with a viva or tank. I think that you couldn't go wrong with a Honda reflex or kymco x-citing 250. Both are just killer quality scoots that would last you probably the rest of your day's. And Ill bet there speed wobble free too boot! I still love my tank got about 3000km on it know serious problems. But I lucked out and got a good one what can I say?...slowfire
