After a fine ride on a blue-sky, 88 degree day in the North Florida hill country, I stopped for a water break and looked under the scoot and saw... coolant dripping from the Tankster! Not a great deluge, but a steady stream. Checked the coolant bottle and it was half-full. Decided to wait till I got home (10 more miles) to undo radiator cap. Gauge reading 1/3 hot or less and fan humming along, I chanced the scoot home. Got there and after MUCH searching, found the tiny rubber (?) hose on the opposite side of the one on the radiator neck that goes to the coolant overflow bottle , this little hose was just dripping a bit and was hanging in space in the carburetor area. And after taking off panels and shining a light in the carb area while the scoot was running, saw a little brass nipple about 1/2" long on the right side of carb squirting coolant. After Houdini arm moves, got up there and re-connected the fallen hose. Then had to take it off because the "clamp" was so weak, I robbed another one from another area and used it instead. So, for now, all is well. Does anyone know what this tubing accomplishes and would it be OK to find the sources of all these micro-hoses and plug/eliminate them? It sure would be a good idea for anyone with this same engine/cooling system to check the hose connection there on the carb BEFORE you find yourself far from home and the hose lets go. Keep your cool.

PS: All this hose checking revealed that the crankcase vent hose on engine top was doing a space walk too. Put a reg. screw clamp on it.Done.
