How heavy is the Xciting? Is it a large change in handling from the tank, or does it feel like a pretty natural transition? I'm jealous as hell too, btw. That's a very sexy machine

strangerdejavu,
It's quit a bit heavier at around 400lbs. which actually makes it handle better. I didn't have problems with the Tank on pavement but the sand road I live on scared the crap out of me, in fact, I took my only spill, very minor, on that darn road. I'm much more confortable on the sand with this bike due to the additional weight.
The transition was pretty painless. I spent a good week and a half on the Tank just tooling around the neighborhood getting used to the bike. I'm already at that level with the 250 in just four days.
Thanks for the complement as well! I, too, thinks she's pretty darn sexy!!

Hi Michael, As you know, I'm among the ranks of the envious as well. Having driven one, I know what I'm missing. Well, hopefully I can get my pennies saved up quickly. I'm on the list at Scoot Over for an orange X-500 when they come in. I never knew the blue was so beautiful, though! I think I'll still stick with the orange for visibility, though. I might be moving to Florida for chiropractic school, and anything to help visbility would be a good thing there! Thanks for posting all the pics, you got me drowning in drool again! ~~

Lugh,
Well, if you've ever been to Kansas, you know about orange barrels!! Kansas highways seem to be forever under repair and the orange color reminded me to much of the barrels! Should serve you well though with all those older folks in Florida!! ;D

Man any of you been to PA? When I used to drive 18 wheelers full time there were miles of cones for no reason! One night at 2:30 in the morning I was the only vehicle west bound on I-80 and was in a cone zone. Being bored I slaughtered 2 miles of cones with the bumper of the Freightliner Cabover I was driving. I later felt bad. I am a serial cone killer! Aaron
