Is there a replacement for the OEM one that might last longer?

I am not sure about that. Sorry. I was wondering how long you have had your elite 250? I am thinking about buying an 89 elite 250. let me know what opinions you have.

I've owned it for about one month but have only ridden it a few times. Someone else always has it borrowed! It'll run 65+mph with me, weighing 280lbs, while getting 148mi on a 2gal tank of gasoline! We are in hilly country here in Jackson County, TN and the Elite will continue to accelerate up all of these hills!
It causes my Valkyrie to feel like a Greyhound bus when I first get back on it....which I'm gonna do right now as my son has the Elite!

It will only hit 62 and occasionally will backfire once when I turn it off. Suggestions?
