I would like to warn any dealer considering the Tank line of scooters BE Ware!!! As you know a dealer can only support his or her customers as long as the manufacturer represented supports the dealer. I have only been a tank dealer for a few months and I will tell you that they do not have an the parts or the service knowhow to support the products they sell. We have received the wrong colors on scooters ordered and were told that they would replace them if we would pay the freight to return the scooters. We have a wiring problem with a 50cc Jeff Gordon bike, the wiring harness was butchered from the factory and the bike would not shut off, and Tank shipped us a wiring harness that doesn't even come close to matching. We have been a Motofino dealer for 3 three years and have only experience great support both service an parts.

You should sign up for the new dealer forum, no Motofino dealer there yet.

Welcome to the world of being a Tank Dealer, glad that you are able to get thru to them to chat. As for parts, to fix them and being a Tank dealer for almost a year is a logistical nightmare but I manage thru other sources. Worse of it all, it is giving scooters a bad name when a distributor can not or will have difficulties supporting thier products after a sale. I am having a feeling that States or the government will step in and clamp down on them and other distutors for not supporting the products they sell. Even worse case, saying they have an "X" time Warrantee on parts and not carring the parts to fix it for , say 3 to 6 months. I wonder what would happen if Ford, Toyota or Yamaha did this, where they would be at?

What sucks is Im good friends with these guys and I have seen the crap they have gone through with Tank they just want to sell products they can keep running for their customers. no problems with motofino and they also sell fly scooters and wizzers and never had a problem getting support till they dealt with tank so now they are stuck with bikes they dont feel right selling and tank wont take them back.

I tried hard to sell Tank in 2006 and they still to the pressure me to sell them. Not that the scooters are that bad its just no one there knows what a scooter or ATV or go cart is and what parts are what, although I have been able to order parts from time to time when I actually needed something under warranty it did not happen, once they sold me a scooter and when tags where needed the scooter vin number came up already used and they refuse to replace scooter and they know what happen it was totally crazy so I stopped working with them and I sold alot of scooters for them tahts why they still come after me. They sell on price alone perod and anyone who buys on price alone gets what they deserve.

This is my third year selling Tank scooters. I have to say it hasn't always been a smooth ride. IMO, Tank is much better than it was a year ago, but they still have many issues to work out. I have dealt with some of the other lower end scooter importers, without naming names, I have to say Tank has been the only one that I have been successful getting parts out of.
As for parts, I try to stock all of my own parts, and replenish when I see Tank(or others) has them in stock. I have serviced almost every brand of chinese scoot, many of the Taiwanese & a few of the Japanese. I still think for the money spent, from a dealer (internet sales aside), the Tank scooter is still one of the best values. You can get a cleaner fit & finish, a better warranty, or one off of a Big-4 showroom floor, but you are going to pay more for it. The fact of the matter is, that scooter's support is only as good as the dealer standing behind it, no matter who the manufacturer is.
Tank does sell on price point, but of 90% of the buyers I see, that is what they are shopping for. I lose alot of initial sales to the internet, but they usually end up becoming service or parts customers or end up buying from me when they are tired of their internet bike (or lack of support from their internet dealer). I'm taking on a line of more expensive scooters, but I don't see them outselling the Tanks I sell, I guess time will tell.

Wow and to think I was thinking about maybe getting a Tank. If they can't support their dealers they sure aren't going to support the end customer!!!

I agree with abscooter.......Tank is a great bang for the buck to both the consumer as well as to the selling dealer...................

Wow and to think I was thinking about maybe getting a Tank. If they can't support their dealers they sure aren't going to support the end customer!!! I have had good support from them , but I can't say all dealers feel the same way. I also feel that the scooter dealers have gotten a little more support than their ATV dealers. But then again I can only really speak for myself & my experiences. Like any business relationship it is a 2-way street, and I think the dealers that work with Tank probably get the support they need.

I am going to add the Tank scooter line to my business. People are "gas strapped" and cash poor. Tank offers their line of 150's for under 1500.00 msrp............

I've had my Tank since June of 2006 and the only problem I had was a shoddy weld on the muffler that broke loose from the bracket in the first couple of months. My dealer replaced it from one of their Tanks they had in stock so I wouldn't have to wait on one. Other than common 'brain-fart' problems of my own I have been thoroughly pleased with my choice of brands.
