I really didn't know where to post this, the Dealership thread, the 50cc thread, or may the Tips and Tricks place. None of these seemed to 'fit' as I could put it in any or all of them!
I caught a recent post in the 50cc thread: "New exhaust, upjet needed?" from scootermike of Scootertronics.com. He announces that they are now offering complete engines in any state of 'enhancement' one might want! Does anyone else offer this? Just curious, seems pretty unique to me. He also mentions that they have just about any and all performance parts, systems, et.al for engines up to the 250cc.
With all the publicity that dutifully gives notice of bad dealers, scams and other such shady operations, I just wanted to post some positive remarks! We all are quick to gripe and scream when things go bad, to any degree, but we rarely take the time to notice when things go well, much less tell others of it! So with that in mind, here goes.
I know first hand, as a customer, that the folks at Scootertronics, the owners and the techs, are top notch. I know because I bought my little 50cc scooter from them, and Michael was very diligent in explaining what could be done to enhance the bike to suit my needs in negotiating the hilly area I live in. We went over various 'packages', and decided on what we believed provided the best combination of performance, durability, and cost. HUGE bummer... it took a little over 5 (FIVE) WEEKS to have my ride delivered!! Well, I ordered the scooter at the first of July, the heart of the 'busy season', I insisted on a particular color (no BS 2nd choice) and I wanted the engine basically reworked. All in all, the five weeks was pretty dang fast! And the bike arrived in perfect condition, fully assembled.
This scooter SCREAMS! Even more important, it is as smooth as glass (well, for a 10" wheeled 50cc ;d). I have just over 2000 MILES on it now, and there have been no issues of any consequence. A blown headlight and a vacuum hose split when I dropped it (oops).
Scootertronics performed more than I asked, and far more than I expected. I was kept posted on the progress of the machine while it was being reworked. The bike was tested thoroughly at every step, more than once the guys took out one item and replaced it to assure the best 'mix' possible. They even added parts that we had not discussed, to make it 'right' and delivered the scooter without even mentioning these. The bottom line is that I am sold on these guys, Michael will not knowingly allow a scooter out of his shop unless it is 'right'. I am sure that there are some that might have a gripe with scootertronics, no business can keep everyone satisfied all the time as we all know. I am just sharing what my experiences have been with what I think is a a great dealer, one that can be trusted and will tell it like it is with out hype and knows what he offers works, because he and his team have proved it in real world actual testing and refinement.
OK, I am off the soap box... just a FYI on folks that are worthy of consideration in a field of many that are 'not so hot'!
