Heh, looking at the local Craig's List I found someone selling one of these, so I just had to chase the page down. To their credit, its a fairly professional looking web page, a vast improvement over so many drop shippers, but with no dealers in my area, I'm not trying one. www.redstreakscooter.com//showcase/index.php?cat=2

Euro Turbo GT-2 . . "4 Stroke 49.5cc Engine . . 45+ mph" . . it appears the displacement misrepresentation game continues.

I was surprised to see they had two dealers in MO and one just about 20 miles from me. It looks like just another re-brand. And, guest is probably correct about the misrepresenting of the cc's. I thought that game had been put to a stop but I think some importers may be installing the kit after it gets here.

Actually I doubt they can put a stop to it ifn you're speaking of the government, there's too many scoots coming in from China to catch them all. The more reputable companies such as Tank, Roketa, TNG and so on have cut it out, they've too much to loses with this game, they're looking down the road at where they're going, unlike these type of outfits that are either out for a quick buck, or just out to sell scooters with little thought of where they're going.

With the prices they are asking (MSRP) unless the dealer discounts them I doubt they will sell a lot.

The price on those is not bad. I sell them for 1399 delivered to your home. Just a cou-ple hundred over what I charge for a regular Jalon 50cc.

HOw's the usual issues? YOu know, fit and finish and company support? As with many of these labels that suddenly pop up, I'm rather suspicious as the quality can vary wildly, parts and other support can be non-existant, particularly when problems pop up, and a professional web page is far too easy to create.

Many of those scooters appear to be the exact same ones as are sold on scootertronics, even with the same name! Streaker, Streaker GT, Metro Duo Turbo... Makes me confused, so many look alike! Are the Streaker (Primo?) the same scooter as the UM Matrix 150, with perhaps a different exhaust and paint job? So many names look exactly the same...

While many of them share the same body panels and many of the same components, it doesn't mean they are the same. There are probably a couple hundred scooter factories in China and the quality varies widely.

Yeah, I know. I could have used a template and had another site that looks like all the others. What fun is that? Your point is well taken though. Anybody can build a website or pay someone to do it. It doesn't take that much.

I could easily clear things up but love how everyones a expert on everything they know so much about, I call a scooter what it is nothing else, as far as mods anything can be done once its here and so many are so grateful it has been done, scootertronics is the number one dealer for Red Streak Scooters from Meitian, Primo and IM Star its that easy it gets hard when others like to call it something it is not. Notive for Re Streak from Meitian, Primo and JM Star all have all the same engines and parts as all the others.

When I was at the Expo in Feb. I ran across a company out of Florida called Motofino and talked to one of the owners for a while. I'm not quite sure what to make of them. www.motofino.com

I think it was some sort of spam and I deleted it. Looked like a Chinese dating service. I would hate to have to make all guests register before being allowed to post, but spam just cannot be allowed.

Turns out the Red Streak machines are manufactured by Shanghai Jmstar Motorcycles Company, or so the little data plate read on the one I looked at today at lunch, at the Redstreak Motors in Hudson, MA...
going to the Jmstar website, the Streaker 150 looks just like the jmstar JSD150T-20 OLD, and the Vento Phantom 150, the UM Matrix 150, the Diamo... etc, etc... see where i'm going with this? ;-)

I noticed the same thing. I'd like to set my Streaker 150 up beside one of the others you've listed, and actually see if there are any small differences or if they're in fact, part for part, the same scooter with a different name. Unfortunately, the scooter crazy has not really hit North Dakota yet! Winnipeg, Manitoba, however, is another story. Vespas EVERYWHERE up there.

PLEASE READ Scootermike's post above... he knows what he is talking about, and clearly says that one of the suppliers of Red Streak models is JMStar. He also relates that other Red Streak suppliers are Primo, and Meitan. The Metro Turbo Duo on the scootertronics.com site and the RedStreak site are indeed the same scooter, manufactured by Sheinghi Meitain Motorcycle Company. I am one of those 'HAPPY' customers he speaks of that got a great upgraded machine from scootertronics.com. Look at the model designation of all the different Chinese scoots, the middle section of the designation represents a COMMON design, shared by all the manufacturers, they are COMMUNISTS, no such thing as design patents and trademarks, it all belongs to the ChiCom government, and everyone shares. The model designations, once you get familiar with them, will also tell you WHICH company/factory made that particular scooter. The same designs are all produced by numerous factories, the importers and distributors are resposible for all the different names(badges) slapped on the actual scooters when the get to the US. Some importers may(do) buy the same model from several sources(factories). Other threads provide a better insight of this phenomenon!

I bought a Mietian 50 retro scooter from Scootertronics just about 1 year ago. Very pleased with the scooter, ( which gets up over 45mph with my wife and I both riding ). Also, had a good experience with Scootertronics. I bring this up because Redstread drop ships to/for Scootertronics.

Dude, they have my Roketa 250 (247 mine is the 260) to a tee... well except the fact that they want $3295.00 and I paid $1850.00.
The website aint worth $1445.00 extra!
Oh, and all of their specs are off too... just another "brander".
They hide their identity, just someone named Imidio from MA, and you can't even find company info on the website... too shady for me!

I have been dealing with Redstreak for a couple years now and they are great bunch of people. I also found out they just opened their own retail stroe and carrying Benelli scooters and motorcycles. The Meitian scooters are a pretty decent quality machine. Have not had a single major issue with them. Just one or 2 minor things, a coil and a speedo cable.

The Meitian scooters are a pretty decent quality machine. "an upgrade 49.7cc engine to get speeds of 45mph" . . sourceWhat specific components are different in this "upgrade" to get 45 mph? The typical China 50cc 4-stroke (139QMB) top speed is around 30-35 mph.
