I would like to start with a slap on my scooter rear tire ;D. This mod of moving the radiator was thought about for a long time. Well it is finally finished and testing to it this weekend. Earl you had a valid point about clearence of the fender to the radiator. That was thought about also with redrilling the 2 lower rear holes and small triming on the fender front hole area to gain the needed clearence. So under my full 220lb weight, front brakes applied pushing down. I maintain about a 1/4 to 1/2 ince of room left.
To continue where I left off on the first post. Placement of the radiator was dictated by the lower hose fitting thru where it did leaving perfect centering of the rest and the upper hose's. The 3 hoses where replaces and ran to their normal fitting's. There is one slight problem that i will solve later is filling. This will be done with a radiator flush-kit T fitting with the hose cap. I would be able to fill from there alot easier and to complet fullness. (I'll post on that when I do it.)
Cutting the front inner fender was done as shown and can be seen in the attached photo's. Yes, I am going to find a perferated screen to cover that all when I find what I am looking for.
On my first test run on a country road for 10 miles full throtle, air temp outside of 50f (not a good peramiters). My gage showed less than half where it should of been showing more. So far so good. I'll keep you all up dated.
Not for cost and materials. this was the lowest cost I have ever done on a scoot. 7 feet of heater hose, 2 scrap metal peice's (free) and 4 hose clamps. Also helps to have a friend with a mig welder. If you try this, take your time and it will be rewarded. Thank you scooter dawg's and doggette's.
