Hi there, here's some pix of my recent replacement of the stock variator and roller weights from my Strada RX200HP 155cc GY6 scooter with 650 chinameters on it. Broken in with the Ride It Like You Stole It Method. Variators: Racing(left) Stock(right) Note the ramp size and center hub size differences between the two. The racing variator also has vents around the outer side edge. 3 cooling vents in the outer edge of the racing variator. Stock: Racing: The Bike that it's going on.... zoomzoom Hope these pictures offer some insight to anyone who is trying to decide, "what's the difference? Do I really get a better product"? I will add some findings after the final installation. Loudest143 *new racing parts are sweet

Great pics! Thanks for sharing. Be interesting to hear what you find. What weights for stock and upgrade rollers?

I had a carby issue that slowed me way down. I will try to get the weights weighed today. New chrome intake wouldn't fit!

Here are the findings in the variator variances....
Stock Variator with weights: 538 grams
Racing Variator with weights: 481 grams
Stock Weights: 14 grams
Racing Weights: 11 grams
Possible variance of +/- 1 = 10 grams racing, 13 grams stock, which matches typical stock weights, and most popular used aftermarket weights.
Hopefully I will have some results regarding performance soon. It's 28 degrees, snowy and wet. I'm not going WOT in this mess.

Latest photo of the 117mm variator.... You can see the black sharpie mark I made at the top of the wheel. It was originally about a 1/4" long. Now it's about 1 mm long. Not much there at all! I can tell you that is more use of the variator than what would be possible with the oem 115mm variator. You get a noticable difference in the middle range of acceleration with this variator, IMHO. Hope this helps some folks see the difference. I'm currently running 11g weights. Good luck with your variator! loudest143 *the human head weighs 8 pounds

That looks like about what I thought it would, thanks for posting! Do you think you would get even better performance if you got a racing outer shell as well? I think some places make/sell them, or did this come with the outer shell too? Thanks!

I didn't get the outer shell... I dunno if that would make a huge difference. I am thinking that the ramp angle is the most important part, and I guess it could cause uneven wear side to side. Of course, as long as you put your belt back on the same way everytime, you would be okay..... I think. We will see what my little bike does soon enough. Of course providing the snow melts, the ice subsides, and the rain washes away all the salt, and then the temps get out of the single digits. GEEZUS.
