A trick I learned accidently, when my license was gone and I had to ride in the wintertime, I dress normally for the temps outside, and over that, I wear my gauntlet gloves and a full face helmet and a hooded pvc rainsuit. It blocks I dare say 95% of the windchill and I don't have to wear4 layers of everythng just to get to the store n back.

My worst problems with cold were my fingertips, feet, and neck. Thermal socks took care of the feet. Neck warmer helped. Now I just need to find some gloves that have some type of feeling without letting me get frostbite. I may have to check out the pvc suit, only worn one when it is raining.

Came damn close when I bought my 1st scooter in early Feb when my taxes got back. The following night it was 26*. But I was so happy to be mobile again, that The cold didn't phase me till I got home and I couldn't stop shivering in an almost straight hot hour long shower! Needless to say, the next stop was to the cycle shop for a full face helmet, and the gloves.

We really need studded scooter tires too. That ice gets treacherous.

We need rain before we can get any ice...
