This weekend I decided to try something different with my idle mixture screw. It has always been a pain to adjust it since it required a long screwdriver and getting it properly aligned through all the bits in the way of the mixture screw. Sadly, I forgot to take pictures. All I did was locate a small flat washer that fit into the screwdriver slot and I soldered the washer into the slot. Probably some JB Weld would have worked just as well. Then I trimmed the edge of the washer away using small files so that the screw would fit all the way into the carb without hanging up on the washer. Now I can adjust the idle mixture with my fingertips from above and for the first time I think I have it dialed in pretty well. Easy, free, quick, effective. That's the kind of fix I like.

Hey Nate,
How about a picture? Sounds like a creative solution

Charlie, its pretty out-of-sight now that it is installed but I could do a drawing later and post it up.
The washer I found in my hardware tray of junk was about 1/2" diameter and thin enough that it fit snugly into the slot on the brass airscrew.
