I didn't like the bracket and support my scoot came with, didn't line up with the carrier, so I made my own re-enforcement: I used a plastic cutting board and cut a fitted piece for inside (used the rubber pad as template) and a base for underneath the trunk (made a paper template), which sandwiches the sort of honeycomb trunk base. I lined up the trunk base and made sure it was straight on the luggage rack and drilled the holes. I counter sunk the holes on the board inside the trunk and used flat head (tapered head) screws (Stainless Steel) to mount it to the carrier using the four (4) mounting holes already available. I even went one step further and made up some support pieces for underneath the carrier. I used two (2) pieces of one (1) inch dia. x twelve (12) inch long Stainless Steel tubing, welded a 1/2 " hex nut in each end and a 1/4" hex nut where each of the four (4) flathead screws come through the carrier. This will eventually allow me to mount a custom side luggage carrier to the 1/2" nut ends, on either side of the cargo trunk. This is to strap a tent, sleeping bag and sleeping pad to the side, for when we go camping etc. Following are some pics of the cutting boards, trunk and tubing (also included the original plastic support and rubber pad). Once I get it mounted (after licensing and registration) I will post some further pics. Hope this helps, keep on scootin' Andi

Just a little update, some pictures of the trunk mounted and the scoot loaded with groceries: The only adjustment I have to make is on the custom support piece underneath the carrier. I have to make a connector link to fasten the two (2) pieces together on each side. The one on the rear is a little too flexible as the bolts through the trunk are not very apart at all. The rear support piece is solid and joining the two should re-enforce the whole set up. I will post some further pics once I get the side rack made up. Andi

Scooter trunks: A vintage Samsonite cosmetic case makes a pretty good scooter trunk! Rounded corners, lid that clicks open, can be painted, etc. I'll post a pic soon. So much better than the unfortunate milk crate!

Made the connector link to fasten the two (2) custom support pieces together on each side. The one on the rear was a little too flexible as the bolt spacing was pretty close. The whole set up is solid now, a perfect anchor point for bungee cords when strapping a bag onto the seat against the trunk. All I need now, in order to haul all the groceries ...... is a larger trunk ;D. Andi

Found a use for the left over cutting board material (HDPE). The rubber bumper on the rear stand had torn, so using a 1 3/8" diameter hole saw I cut/drilled a piece and then opened the ID hole from 1/4" to 11.5mm and punched in the original 12mm bushing. Will see how it stands up, may be a little noisy compared to the rubber. I would guess the only thing better would be a piece of polyurethane rubber, which is used for upgrade suspension rubbers on many vehicles especially off road. Andi

Using a piece of black canvas material (as used for gym bags and back packs) I made (well my wife sewed it ;D) an insulated pad for the underseat storage. Sewed it up like a pillow case leaving the flat side open, then turned it inside out and inserted two layers of a fitted aluminum foil type foam bubble wrap (commonly used in soft coolers). Then folded the ends of the open side inwards and sewed it up. It does keep the temperature down quite a bit for when putting grocery items under the seat.
