I'm looking at buying a 2000 Sundiro Akita with only 350 miles on it. It looks showroom new but hasn't been started in over 5 years. What will need to be done prior to starting it up and what should I look for. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I'm brand new to the Forum so, Hello! everyone. Thankx.

I think I would start with a long, slow charge to the battery and then check to make sure it holds the charge and if not, replace it. Next I would drain and flush the fuel system- old fuel turns to gum and either rebuild or replace the carb. Then, make sure the oil is full, or change it for good measure and crank it over several times without starting it to make sure its free and then go ahead and start it. Before driving it I would flush and bleed the brake systems and test the brakes well. Good luck with your project and welcome to the forum. Art

Thankx Art, I feel good about it, and it shouldnt take to long to get it on the road. Looking forward to the wind in my face again.
