Well I could'nt resist. I banged, chisled, and drilled out the small end pipe and the last two baffles inside the muffler. Sounds great. Would be a lot simpler if you had a plasma cutter. My brother used to have one and it would cut open a coke can and not burn the paint. I saw him do it. Anyway I am already gaining power because It got up to 69 before I had to let off for a corner and I'm running gas line freeve up cleaner and staybill for winter storage. The best it would do on a long straight with this gas setup yesterday was 65. I'll wait for spring to post best gains. Have to keep tank topped off with this gas mixture for winter storage. I try to start it once a week or two. To prevent battery discharge and engine internal rust. Have to remove battery when it gets cold, very easy. People here you coming now. Safety feature I say. Great excuse anyway: For great sound and of course, more power. Now I need an overdrive so I can lobe down the road, like a harley. ha ha!

I went out and bought a small Map gas & Oxegan Torch at the local farm store for $65. I am going to do it up right and it will look stock after High temp flat black paint job. I think maybe I'll ride to Sturgis?

That's sorta how I feel about the difference in the sound of my RX150, since the last exhaust mod I made(drilling holes in the end plate of my muffler). Still not near as loud as a lot of Harleys, but at idle, the sound of my 1 cyl. Strada is now kinda similiar to a 2 cyl Harley. Only thing is, I'd need some mighty tall gears for it to sound like a tractor motor going down the road, the way Harleys do.

Took out another baffle that makes 4. Used a 16" drill bit and drilled arourd in a circle on th outside of the inside diameter of the muffler. Confused? Sucked out excess metal shavings with a vacume cleaner. Opened up the end of the muffler a little more so it would accept a 3inch crome muffler end found at super wallyworld.(Wal Mart.) Tomorrow I'll probably paint the muffler with high temp flat black. After paint it will look and sound better than original. Little kids hear me coming down the road in small towns and give me the peace sign. Yeah. Cool just like when I was 19 and hell on wheels, the kids in Clarksburg nicnamed me Evel because of my wheelie stunts. I jumped 60 ft. with a Honda XL250. I'm telling you when you go that high and that far you start to feel like you are flying. First time I went that far I remember thinking while I was in the air, Am I ever gona come down, I feel like a bird. Seemed like I was up there 5 minutes. That good old Motorcross bike landed perfect. Just like it was nothing. That was considered crazy stuff back in 72. The stuff they are doing now with jumps and tricks makes Evel Knevil look like an amatuer beginner. You got hand it to him for being crazy evough to jump with heavy dirt track Harley. Factory sponsered by Harley is why he did it. It's all about the money. 400 Broken bones later; he is still walking around. I guess that's what you get when you mix Wild Turkey and Harley's. He is in the guiness book of world records for the bones. He used to say they can fix everything but your head. Please guys wear a helmit. I had a helmet save my life. Most motorcycle fatalities happen going 25 mph in town. Usually the rider or riders did not wear a helmet.

Bond and Dennis,
After opening up the muffler do you have any concerns about valve settings, back pressure and the like? I still have to do something about my muffler because I have a baffle loose and rattling. Sounds really bad!
I pulled into town yesterday and was next to a stone wall at a stop sign, you can really hear the baffle bouncing around. I am strapped right now so I need to make a cheap fix and was already considering buying a torch set for my art projects (flame painted copper) maybe I could make it a dual purpose purchase and modify the muffler.
