my mirrors were impassable to tighten. i would think they were all set and get on the road only to have them flapping in the breeze again.aaron[ACD] suggested lock tight. it helped but did not solve the problem-they would still move somewhat when doing higher speeds. i finally went into my shop and got two lock washers and placed them under the mirror stems. my terminator has a spacer with a lip on top. the washer goes between the base of the stem and the spacer lip. the result has been great - no movement of mirrors at any speed [my scoot goes 60 with two on board]. i can still adjust the mirror back and forth enough without loosening everything. this may have been suggested before but hey- i,m new.

don; You did the right thing to keep your mirrors stuck in place. Sometimes the bolts are a little bit long, preventing you from fulling tightening them. You didn't mention the scoot make and body style but here is a post I made some time ago about modifying the spacer to get a better "angle" for adjustment:
A notorious problem with those types of mirrors and the angle of the "dash". I was able to grind an angle on each spacer, causing the mirror mirror to be kicked slightly. I rotated the spacer until I got the correct angle of the mirror head, allowing a proper view of the rear. Takes some trial-n-error but it worked for me. Some folks just eliminate the stock mirror and go with the traditional metal shaft ones which allow more adjustment. You do need to get ones with the proper thread size (8 mm, I believe - Stan Jessup has them on his website) on the shaft.

thanks for the info scooterollie, we all need all the info we can get on these enginering wonders.wouldn,t it be great if someone could reduce the info from the forums into book form so we wouldn't have to keep " re-enventing the wheel." my scoot is a primo terminator. we bought it from aaron [ACD] who has been very hepful with the few problems i have had- i couldn't get spark because i wasn't double clicking the disarm switch for the alarm and i had a problem with the high-low beam switch which carbonized when i ndrove it in the rain. aaron did all the prep work and did it beter than an impersoal shop would have. plus he is always available with advice. the terminator runs great so far- has 550 miles onit of which aaron did 275. thanks again
don may your backs feel fine.
