Got back from a ride today and noticed a burning smell. I looked at the muffler and the top 1/3 was white! The "paint" burned off from the heat leaving a metal of unknown origin exposed So, had a can of Rustoleum High Heat paint on the shelf I had bought for the grill. Said 1200 degree proof. Hmmmm...Why Not? Turned out real good and matched the factory flat black. Looks much better all one color . So, if this happens to you, grab a can and go for it! scooterdog

Thanks for the concern, jtf, I hope it was just cheap paint. The scoot seems to run cool. The paint I put on remained black after a similar ride though. But will keep an eye out all the same. It is still so new it always smells like it 's hot and burning when I get back from a trip, even a short one. The fan hums along and the gauge says 1/3 hot, so hopefully all will even out as I approach 1000 Chinometers. scooterdog
