I wanted to change out my spark plug on the tank 250. Wanted to see which one was put in at factory (was NGK C7HSA) , and what condition it was in (a bit sooty and black looking, but scoot still new), and...I wanted to install the new iridium plug. but alas... I needed an 18 mm plug wrench and that was not in my toolbox, neither was a deep-dish 18mm socket. So...I thought...I will use the factory included "spark plug tool". What a piece of work! But, I realized that a 19mm short socket (which I had) would go over the small end of the "plug socket", and I would not have to use the holes at the top and a screwdriver to get the plug out. It did not come out easy, was really torqued! But...It did finally loosen. So, after spreading a small amount of anti-seize around the threads on the new plug, it went in just fine. So if you find yourself in this situation, give it a try. The cheap tool stood up to this, but I will be looking for a "real" spark plug socket tool soon. Scoot seemed to start quicker and idle a bit smoother with this plug, but with only 5 miles on it it is too soon to tell if it will be a better plug. scooterdog

Had to change the sparks on the Vstar today. Some idiot locktited them in but I finally got them out. Had lost the front cylinder last week so I started the work up. I was getting pulse out of the coil so figured something wrong with the plug. Sure enough it was fouled so I replaced it. Then the rear cylinder was firing at half rate so I put in a hotter spark plug. Now this is a Japanese bike that thinks it Chinese or lets face it, the same problems happen on these vehicles regardless of place of origin.

Wait just a minute. Are you sure you have a C7HSA in a 250 engine? You should have a DPR7EA which is bigger (12mm) than the 150 plug (10mm). Stan I wanted to change out my spark plug on the tank 250. OOPS You are right, of course, Stan (AKA Eagle Eye), The plug I have removed is a DPR7EA , with the number 9 below ?? I wrote that too quick and was looking at the manual that came with the scooter "TK250T-2" and the plug type listed is C7HSA. A lot of the other stuff in there does not apply so I should have figured the plug info would be wrong too. Sure would be good to have a REAL manual , in ENGLISH, that was actually written for this scooter! Thanks for catching the error! scooterdog

You had me worried. I thought there amy have been a head change in the 250 to use the smaller plug. Thanks for clearing that up. Yeah, I made the same mistake on the 250 plug! Maybe someday they will actually write a manual to go along with the 250s.
