Attempting to start the scooter, the engine kicks over for 1.5 sec. and may not start the engine...while still holding down the start button, the engine pauses for about 2 sec. before it attempts to turn the engine over.. I was thinking this was a weak battery, has anyone had this problem.. where it might be a bad battery GROUND?

the best way is to use a voltage meter (dvom) and measure the voltage drop across each terminal connection.you can bypass most of the circuit by connecting the battery to the starter solenoid and to a good ground.
