This may happen especially on hot days. You start your GY6-powered scoot, ride a short distance. Then it loses power, finally quits, and absolutely will not restart. After it cools completely, it restarts OK, perhaps after cranking a while.
Very likely this condition is caused by old-fashioned vapor lock.
You'll need to reroute the fuel line so there are no high spots before it enters the carburetor. The line should rise in one continuous line from the fuel valve/pump, and enter the carburetor from below. Also, keep the fuel line away from engine hot spots.

Your local NAPA, Checker etc may have some heat shield line that you can buy. Run the fuel line section that is closest to the engine through the heat shield line to keep it cooler.
