I've recently started working on a 2010 Kymco Sento and I was cleaning out the carb by hand as i've done previously with numerous chinese scoots. I saw the mixture screw wasn't really 'sealed' but it didn't have any indentions for a screwdriver to use. I attempted to drill at it as i've done successfully on previous scooters and I just kept drilling waiting for it to spin until I felt like I almost reached the threads where it screws in so I stopped. The screw is ripped to shreds but still sealing the carb fine. My scoot is running super lean and i've tried using needle nose pliers to rotate the damaged remains of the screw but I havent been successful. What should I do at this point to salvage the situation? Thanks for the help guys.

I think you might as well get a new carb. The good news is that most after market carbs for these have the adjusting screws visible.

I was planning on selling within this week but I need to have it running properly before I hand it over. If a new carb is my only option i'll bite the bullet but if there's a way I can adjust it as it is i'd really appreciate some input.

I think you know screwed when you see it. Pardon the pun.

The screw is not the only way to adjust the mix. Raise the needle (by moving the clip down). That will richen her up.

Fix it!! Then, sell it. Why would you ask (should I fix it before selling it?) WHY sell a bike you know has problems YOU created.....JMHO i agree don't start someone out with troubles, its not right unless you tell them about the issue.
