I've mentioned before that I'm 6'5" 300+ lbs. Well I've noticed a squeal sound coming from the scoot (08 Suzuki Burgman 400) as I'm riding. The bike only has a lil over 3000 miles on it so it shouldn't be the cvt belt should it? Also I notice the scooter almost feels as if it's gonna shake apart at high speeds. Could it be the fact that I'm a big guy and the bike has a heavier load to manage? The tire pressures are fine...any ideas or input? Attachments:

I'm 6'5 probably 260 since the holidays (ahem) and have no such thing happening. Doubt it's weight-related, but possibly weight-exacerbated.

@ the OP
no really you might be a bit heavy but it shouldnt matter that much
if i was you id go ahead and pop the CVT cover off and look ans as for the shaking, you might have bolts loosing. id take a day/afternoon and check all your bolts better to do that and have a secure knowledge that isnt gonna far apart on ya
just my 2 cents

I'm 6' 1" 235lbs and I have a 250b roketa, I don't think your weight has anything to do with it, you may have something coming loose, check bolts, screws, try to pin point the where its coming from.

If the squeal is on take off it is probably dust in the clutch. If it always squeals then it could be a bearing that is going. Excessive vibration is usually due to tire balance. The Burgman can handle your weight easily.

Most bikes are tuned to carry over 300LBS (since they are 2 passenger carriers, and 2 people have to be extremely skinny to be under 300LBS together). It shouldn't do that, but if I where you, I'd check on the belt. On my BMS (lower quality), I needed to change the stock belt after 2k miles. (I did notice a decrease in speed for the same RPM (eg: I usually get 40MPH @ 4k RPM, but I noticed at just over 2K miles I'd get to 35MPH @ 4k RPM; a good indicator that my belt was wearing out (getting thin).

Most bikes are tuned to carry over 300LBS Is that true? I don't know of a 50cc one that officially supports 300 lbs. or more (Ruckus is 280, mine is 220, etc.), but you are suggesting that they can be "tuned" to carry that much? How would one do that?

Check out some of the Burgman forums. I have heard that this squeal is common in certain Burgman models.

I had glazing on my clutch pads (they were nice and shiny) disassembled the clutch unit, used emery paper on the pads to dull them back up. Check the brakes too (it could be disc squeal)

you have a 5 year old bike with 3000 miles on it, right. That means it has been sitting for a long time the tires are likely out of round and technically they are old enough to warrant replacement. The squealing its hard to say with out more description...
My 06 is rock solid steady up to 90 mph.
Just had a thought are there any wheel weights on your rims??

IIRC, my friend's Islander 50 (Roketa) was rated for 2 people and ~330lbs.
