I just got my first scoot. Used 2011 pcc romeo 150cc. I'm 6'2" & 230. Need help finding a stiffer/better rear shock. When I hit a dip the scoot bottoms-out. If anyone has replaced before, it would be nice to hear from you. Tks!!

Hi Goonie. I'm not familiar with that scoot, but just a thought......... are the rear spring/shock absorber units adjustable ? Take a look and see if you can see a ring with 3 or 4 steps in it, wrapping around the outside of the bottom section of the unit. If you have this setup, you will see that there is also a peg into which one of the steps is now located. Rotate the ring (may be stiff) so that the ring locates in a new position, with the ring as high as possible..... so pre-loading the big spring. That could well solve your problem. Good luck !

The 150cc Romeo weighs 205 lbs and has a GVWR of 522 lbs so it is rated to carry 317 lbs with the stock shock. The Romeo and Juliet both seem to be based on the same frame and the Juliet shows a non-adjustable rear shock while the Romeo does not have a parts breakdown. www.pumacycles.com/Gas-Scooters/I had the Vintage Znen which is the same bike and with my then 265 lbs on it the suspension was correct for the bike. You may be pushing it going too fast through the dips on a bike with only 10 inch wheels and a single rear shock. Even on my 465 lb capacity Aprilia with 15 inch wheels and twin rear shocks you still have to be wary of the dips as you do with any automobile.
