engine serial number

can anyone point me in the right direction to find the serial number on the linhai 257cc engine. It seems to be a different engine than what the id plate says that is under the seat the id plate under the seat say's it's a 244cc engine and a different engine family than what I have seen on this forum. I would like to get the arial number before I call goldenvale again so that I will know what I am talking about to them. thanks ahead for any response

The serial number is located, sort of, just behind or under the left rear shock on the top of the engine casing there. The air filter box can make it a bit difficult to see in some cases.
