my scooter sounds really really really loud like a dirt bike when i rev the engine and when i let it sit it sounds like an old jalopy spitting and puttering like in old cartoons. when i ride it and i let off the throttle it pops and sputters like crazy. i also feel just a slight amount of jerking i guess you would say when riding. i had a starter clutch replaced in august last year and that's all that's been majorly wrong with this bike. it is a '08 schwinn valo 150 with roughly 3600 miles on it.

Sounds like it is leaking by the FLANGE where it connects to the motor. It may have lost a nut or two and or the head studs and blown out the gasket. That would cause backing, popping and running lean. Lefty

You have to check it out maybe a weld broke connecting the flange to the pipe or maybe it is leaking where it connects to the muffler. You have to check it out if you cannot TAKE PICTURES of your muffler and all connections and I we can look at them and be able to tell you what you need. Lefty

dont mean to hijack but is there supposed to be a gasket between the engine and thewhere the muffle connects? and would that cause the scoot to run lean?

The header pipe and engine block is what I think you meant . Yes more flow without upjetting results in it being lean

From the motor to where the header pipe connects to the muffler there should be no leaks. The muffler itself is to quiet it down as well as create some back pressure. 4Ts do not need a lot of backpressure but the 2ts do. Lefty
