Hi all, Opened up my scooter to check the clutch for wear today. Problem is the friction pad is partly embeded in the metal of the clutch shoe so I don't know whether to measure it right from the bottom or to measure how far it protrudes. According to my manual the standard thickness is 4mm and the minimum thickness is 2mm. When I measure the total thickness I get 3.7mm and when I measure only how much it protrudes I get 1.6mm. So my friction pads are either slightly worn or severely worn depending how I measure it. Scooter is a 2008 Honda PS125i.

The part that counts is how much it protrudes out if it is indented like A in your picture that is just to hold the pad good on the metal PAD. So if the pad is nearing the metal pad usually a dimes thickness it is worn down and you will notice it takes just a little more rpms for it to grab the bell and starting off at low rpms you may experience slipping and shuttering. Hmm well a dimes thickness is 1.35 mm and measurement B is 1.6mm. So I guess it's alright for now. Thanks!
