Hi all dench here. so my 150cc bms scootie is still sleepin. after trying to revive it from sitting in a lot for about a year i need all the help i can get so please if u have the time take a look at my story
I recently was in a horrible accident and now my scooter is my last chance of transportation.
the reason i parked it about a year ago it was becouse i blew out the head cyl (spark plug poped out) becouse my valves were waaay off so i got a car... and now back to the scooty
so after a head change and TDC checking reset of timing along with changing my main jet down to 110 (had a 115 in it but it came with a 108 main jet.) pilot jet stayed the same. of course changed gas, cleaned carb and jets (wires), changed both oils, checked for spark against my engine casing, and topped it off with a fuel filter replacing .
so after all that i was only able to ride it for a day with it bogging out with the 115 in there so i assumed it was running to rich.
i checked the air filter turns out there was quite a bit of black.
so i couldnt find the air filter for my air box online. stripped it and put in a uni filter with a extender tube to reroute it around the back.
so when i slapped that on there i tried starting it. sputter for a bit but then died and me trying to start it over and over with and without throttling it just ended up flooding its self.
so went to take out spark and try again later BUT!
BUT BUT get this when i went to take out the plug only half of it came out! the threads on the plug stayed in the cyl and only a tampon lookalike piece came out not shure what thats called sorry
this might have been due to me taking a blow touch to the tip of the spark plug to get the fowling off yea.. i dont know what i was thinking.
so as you can see im in need of a bit of advice in tuning and maintaining my scooter. any tips would help i googled so much but im kinda stuck here now.
i was wondering if it sounds like its running too rich becouse of my air filter? i have a dry uni filter on there now (oiled did not give enough air) mabye i should reset my fuel screw? is my choke doing that thing that people say might happen? the plugs always black so i know im hella rich.
should i try taking off my exhaust or somthing?
oh haha i forgot my spedo is also not working mabye cuz i put oil in it near the wheel? just stays at 0 worked when i parked it about a year ago tho...
what do u guys think. mabye i should replace my gaskets? (was going to when i change the variator)
mabye my timing is still off even tho it starts and floods? i made sure the piston was TDC and locked the flywheel. it matched up with the camteeth and flywheel t marking.
is it jsut not enough air? could it be a carb problem? i screwed the fuel screw all the way in and tried it 2 turns out (a turn is one full rotation right? 360 degrees?)
