First timer for me, a hybrid 50cc scooter, supposedly gets upto 200MPG (real life it would probably be closer to 150MPG). www.sunnymotor.com/product_info.php?cPath=30&products_id=93Looks like 12 in rims, hi-performance alu exhaust, upgraded mirrors, windshield, and they basically packed 2 batteries and a charger in the storage compartment.

I saw a hybrid a while back but do not know anyone who has even test ridden one . Takeoff uses the most fuel so with a battery for takeoff makes since for mileage as long as it does not have a heavy battery . Did you know Porsche made hybrids long before founding Porsche when he worked for other auto makers

it's a first timer to see the chinese step in.
The electrical motor can also be used to charge the battery, so hopefully the future bikes won't need a stator, and a second 12V battery, so cost can be cut.

No braking charges batteries in electric cars since polarity is reversed instead of consumed when powering the motor

Depends, if the motor is used as a generator charging low charge, or as a motor, to accelerate. Then the spark get it's power from the battery.

I would have to be a bit skeptical..... Kinda looks like a scoot with 2 batteries and a charger. The electrical part is a motor HUB worked in the rear wheel. It can be very small, like this: This one is one installed on a scoot:

Neat idea and I have an inspiration which I know I won't follow up on.
Remove the seized 150cc motor in my old scooter, install wheel motors in both wheels. Add a small weed whacker motor to a small alternator and a modest size battery and I have a serial gas-electric scooter.
I wonder how much that would cost. Most probably much more than a new Yamaha scooter.

Electric hub motors usually go between 20 and 35MPH. Occasionally someone finds a way to install them on 28in wheels resulting in a top speed of 40-45MPH, but those speeds are highly unlikely on scooter sized wheels. Then there's the issue that those hub motors have bearings for upto 200LBS, so I don't know how they will hold out against installing it on a 300 pound scooter with rider.
And thirdly, most difficult, is to synchronize the throttle with the electric motor; to find the right balance between electric motor and gas engine. Really, on 50cc's is the max engine you'd install them on; unless somehow you can equip your scoot with large wheels (electric motors are generally multi-pole, and of the slow rotating kind).
