I am trying to replace my 3 valve petcock but I was sent a 4 valve petcock. Everything is hooked up exactly the same way except for this 4th valve (or nipple or nozzle or whatever we call it) that says vent on it. I left it hooked up to nothing and when I rev the engine gas spits out this vent.
Where is this valve suppose to hook up to?

That is meant for carburetors with Power Jets. Extra jets added at the front of the carb to get more fuel in the engine than the carburetor allows to prevent leaning during racing or high speed. Usually found on the Flatside carburetors like Mikuni and Lectron. Either switch back to a 3 valve or you can try to put a small fuel line from your 4 valve petcock with a screw at the end to plug it up. Here is a lectron carburetor with a powerjet modification.

That seems like an awfully crude way to richen the top end. Alot of flatside carburetors come with the powerjets stock. The lectron carburetors some of them have up to 3 power jets and sometimes that is not enough for drag racing. Most running at the drag strip dont use gasoline. Most use Alcohol and nitromethane.
