The wife picked up a new job today, let's see how she's fairing. When she is able to maintain the job for one to two weeks, we're out of our immediate bills, and have some leftover to buy the TaoTao EVO150!
Looking greatly forward to it! More fun than the 50cc, faster acceleration, and better prepared for highway rides!
What I'm looking more forward to, is riding with the miss on the back, something I could not do on the 50cc, due to too low speed

Why don't you cruise her on the Shadow?

A Shadow is superb and I agree that would be much better to give her a ride on and safer to boot

The shadow is only for big rides. This one is for the mid rides, large rides with me alone on it, or short rides with me and my wife. The shadow is too big, and uncomfortable. I did a trip through the everglades with the shadow, much like I did with the taotao, and the shadow is at 44MPG (ok, I did ride 90-100MPH on the I75 back home). 55MPG when cruising at 50MPH.
The 150 will be just perfect for this 200 mile trip!
I did the purchase, $900 delivered at the door! My main objective was to get a fairly inexpensive scoot, and the experience that comes with riding a 150. The EVO150 will replace my BMS260 EFI. Now I have the 50cc, a 150cc, and a 750cc. I might even get rid of the shadow, and get a ninja300, or another fuel injected bike in the future (Thinking about a Royal Enfield 500, or just anything that has a better fuel economy, and has better gearing for the highway). The Shadow does 5K RPM to go 100MPH (to go 60MPH it does 3k RPM). I would have much preferred a 6th gear, or a final gear where cruising at 50MPH = 2k RPM, and at ~63MPH = 2,5k RPM... Don't like the RPM's to go so high on my 750.
But first a Chevrolet Spark for my wife; hopefully a 2013 model by the end of the year, when the 2014 models are out, and there are sales prices are on the 2013 models!
I probably will be cruising a lot more with the 150cc than with the 50cc.

Why not ride the 260 ? Shadow is great as I have had great luck with Hondas and prefer cruisers . Crotch rockets look neat and go fast but suck for long rides as they are not no where as comfortable . Kwasaki KLR 650 dula purpose has EFI
