Not starting can happen for many reasons. Fuel/air, spark, and compression at the right time are required for internal combustion. Start at the first and keep going till you find the problem let us know if you need help with how to find each. As he said above there is not enough information to think anything specific yet...

scootnwinn is right, here are some other ideas, check your ignition coil going into your spark plug, mine came loose some time ago, it would start, but there were time it would just crank forever until it start, the I found the problem. How many miles on this scoot? When was the last valve adjustment?

Hey I am having problems with the carb I believe it is. I can't ride it at all. It will fire up and idle just fine and my friend who weighs probably a 100 pounds less then me can ride it but he still noticed the problem. It will go and it like the first gear powerband and then later into the speeding up it will just bog out and die. I have no idea so maybe someone could help me. Thanks a lot

andrew check your fuel filter, make sure its not pluged, also check the diaphragm in your carb for holes or rips in the rubber.

its a 2006 tank urban sporty, the main problem was bad gas that i fixed but i ran into the problem found out it was the carb didnt have the nuts all the way tight which lead to when i hit a bump the carb would rise up letting to much air in...
but now i ran into another problem this time its in the wiring first i was able to touch the wire goin to the starter motor but now thats not working since i put the rubber plug thing back over it but i took the seat up and messed with the starter relay and got it to get juice for a minute then i moved something and lost it but i ran out of day light

update, im thinking the starter relay might be bad or there is a short somewhere in the + wire somewhere between the starter motor/starter relay and the battery

These are the same type relay as in a riding lawn mower and pretty simple to troubleshoot with a set of jumper cables.
First fully charge the battery and verify it has 12.5 volts and does not drop to almost half voltage when you hit the starter button. If it drops to 6 or 8 volts then you most likely have a bad battery.
If the starter turns when you jump from the battery positive terminal to the heavy lead going from the relay to the starter then you have a bad connection to the positive terminal on the battery, bad relay, start button, brake light switch or possibly a failing tail light bulb. If the starter does not turn then you may have a bad connection at the starter, a failing starter or a bad ground.
Follow the power in a methodical manner and you will get to the root of the problem.

okay so here is where i stand, there is a short in the wiring its either in the plug between the battery and starter motor or battery an starter relay i thought it was that cause it got juice flowing again but couldnt the scooter started then i back stepped and fiddled with the wire on the starter motor and tada got it started, so what you all make of that? and what would be the best way to permanently fix this
