On the 2012 TaoTao cy50-a, do they come with tubed or tubeless tires? Mine was wearing low so I ordered a tire, and it didn't quite last til the tire got here, but the hole is in the middle of the tire, so if it has a tube, I presume I already destroyed that too and need to get a new tube as well since I didn't order one. Is that right?

2100 on original rear, front looks great... I think the rear was off-balance because the wear pattern is uneven. 2100 miles sucks for any tire, jeez.

I've been looking over the Continental "Twisty" but it seems hard to find in the U.S.

Continental is a well known company and it looks like a pretty aggressive tread pattern, it ought to do well

Pirellis are probably the best tires you can get for 3.5x10! I got 2k miles on mine, before I got a slow leak. I still use them, and probably can get another 2k miles out of them. I ran over a small thorn, from a thornbush, and it penetrated the tire. As a result I just have to pump the tire once every 2 weeks, nothing serious...

Zippy's are getting good reviews. It's hard as hayall to find somebody that swaps 10 inch tires in a small town... outward goes the search.

those wont fit the cy50a only 3.5x10 or 100/90/10 or it will rub the engine

Pirellis are great for holding on wet or dry and get a softer ride, but they do not last as long because they are softer rubber. Tires that are hard will last longer but do not hold good when wet and you get a harder ride. Sam

I dind't know that about the pirelli's. I'd just buy them, because they've been a brand name for many years now. Zippy's I've never heard of.

Got a Kenda K329 today, just came in from MSS (through their Amazon store). Effing tire comes with a book. I don't have a valve tool so I can't do mine.

Just got finished. Hell hath no power like a man with four screwdrivers, a can of ether, a bottle of dish soap, and a refusal to not ride. And there are few things as satisfying as seating a tubeless tire with ether... video coming, since although I did see a lot on YouTube about tires in general, I didn't see any about smaller tires like scooters, so people will be more confident if they see the exact amount I sprayed in before setting fire. NOTE: I do NOT recommend setting a tire's beads with flame of any sort; the risk of you catching on fire or seriously burning yourself or your property is high. But if you're going to do it anyway, at least there will be a video for 10 x 3.5 tires.

I Ended up getting a compact compressor unit at the Home Despot after making myself nuts trying to put the Pirelli's on using everything but the proverbial kitchen sink.

I was going to try the rope method but people were saying the either trick worked 99.9% of the time, so I did it and voila. I already have a mini-air compressor (don't know if that's what you're talking about from Home Depot) for pumping air. Got both tires at 35psi now but it's cold, they would probably be 40 in 80 degree weather. I was worried about Pirellis wearing out too fast because they are soft and grippy, typically, and I wasn't willing to spend what they wanted for Zippy so the Kenda seemed like a good balance between traction and tread life and had good reviews. I took a corner tonight at 30 mph after putting about 20 miles on the scoot to wear off any coating and she felt perfectly in control so that was good.

One reviewer only got 1k miles out of his rear using that tire; that doesn't seem good. The other reviews are high but I don't think anybody is talking about true life of the tire yet.
