Well after a short ride today my DR, pulley clutch has given up by my bell housing getting eatin up by the pillow springs gouging the hell out of the inside of my bell housing...this clutch has been a tuning pita and a big disappointment since day 1 as far as its claimed performance and on a value per $ ratio... So now I am looking for ideas for a new set up?
Any options? Not afraid to spend $ just want a strong clutch if I am going to.
Thanks Brian

Dang that sux as I wanted a Dr Pulley clutch myself . So it failed on you ? I was looking at Stage 6 since its half price and tuneable with the ability to change the clutch springs with out removing the bell that comes with it

Now the bell won't even spin because it hits the pillow springs as it try's to rotate. I have looked it over and still don't see a definitive reason as to why the clutch pads pillow springs shifted or bent over enough to cause contact. FYI the clutch has about 3k mi on it so its not like it was an installation error.

Do you think you could reuse the clutch with a new bell ?

Yes its based off a 150cc gy6 The stage6 is nice but it doesn't look like they have 1 for the 150? The last clutch looks interesting? Any one seen or used that clutch?

I watched MRPs video reviewing a CFMoto Echarm prior to buying one . In the video MRP replaced the clutch and variator on it with Dr Pulley and also did on another scooter they compared it to . The Echarm he said made no difference but was a huge improvement on the other scooter .
I have 13,500 miles on my scooter with DR P sliders installed at 5,500 miles and new Bando belt and the glides replaced at 12,000 . I have a strong take off even with a passenger going uphill . When the belt was replaced even though it had more life to give I had almost no dust in the case from belt or in the clutch bell .
I have no idea if the clutch or variator for a CFMoto would fit in a standard GY6 , but if it does , it would be a good option since its not much money compared to aftermarket goodies Maybe Mo@scrappydogscooters or someone else here knows the answer . I would also like to know the answer .
Exactly which Dr Pulley clutch kit did you get ? I have a 2T ( yes I know not the same as a 4T 150 ) but it has a few different clutches to pick from like if 50cc or if bigger . There is also some with diff degreesof pillow springs and I could not get a for sure answer which would be best for me in my build .
Does the expensive Dr P clutch have a warranty ? What springs and weights ( if used ) did you go with ? Stock variator or DR Pulley ? So how did it perform from the start ? Has it been making noise or having a loss of performance or go out all at once ?
I want a stronger clutch and almost all reviews of Dr Pulley products were good and it has to be one of or the most expensive clutch kits out there . I had watched a Scootertronics ( I know they have a bad rep ) video where they upgraded a Minarellli with Stage 6 clutch and unsure if the GY6 clutch you can change the springs without removing the bell .
I plan on having a Stage 6 BBK with matching crank this spring after reading how so many were happy with Stage6 brand and thought their clutch would work great with their BBK and save some money since it costs less than DR Pulley .
Thanks for sharing your story as we can learn from each other . Share the knowledge
