Hello!
First thread on this scootdawg, I'm the same username on the other.
I've had my new (and first) scoot since Friday. I've put about 50 miles on it, puttering about at 30, getting it run in (its a 125). My only issue, it's cut out on me twice. The first time being on the first ride to the petrol station, which I put down to lack of fuel, sloshing about in the tank, the second was on the way home from the supermarket this morning.
Both times, I think, may have been due to me not warming up the crapy spark I've left in until the first service (probably this week).
How long do I need to warm up a little engine for? I took it out for an hour tonight to clock up some bedding in miles, got it out the garage, put it on the C stand, opened the helmet box then started it. I left it idling while I faffed about locking the garage, putting my helmet on etc, and it seemed to be fine.
Any suggestions? (Obviously hangs the spark! Lol My local mechanic has some in ready for when I take it in) Thanks, Ian

I let mine warm up for about 5 mins. But it has been cold lately. Summer time only about 1 or 2 minutes.
I would put a clear aftermarket fuel filter in it if it was mine.

Edit:
Mine use to also stall sometimes. You may have adjust the mixture screw.
I would adjust the screw to highest idle (turn slow then wait, repeat) , then turn out 1/8 turn. See if that helps.

You might want to check your fuel filter too. (Rats M-M ya beat me to the draw LOL!)

Wait until the exhaust is a lil warm not necessary hot . I give it enough throttle on the CS just enough to spin the wheel to warm up the belt . If you have a crappy Torch brand plug replace it with a NGK iridium ASAP .
Little engines always need to warm up prior to riding more so in the winter

Cheers guys.
I did a full PDI when I got it, and there were no pigeons, bricks or Chinese lunch left overs in the tank. I gave it another looking at after it happened to make sure to.
I'll check the filter, and keep warming it up. It's only 30 seconds, a minute or two maybe, while I lid up, and it seems to be fine.
Ian.

flooding? compression leak? idle mixture? since the scoot is new i think the lean/ rich screws still needs to be tuned. you cannot just run it out of the box.... REMEMBER, its a chinese scoot. theres a guy in the university scooter forum who can help and walk u thru your problem, his name is alleyoop,(just one of his million handles, in disguise) go over there and leave him a message, im sure he'll be glad to help you. but, yeah you can get a lot of help here too, your choice, good luck!

The first service is real close right? warming it fixes it... let it go don't worry too much about strange things before the first service, its bound to be different than it should be

Yeah, it's got 50 miles on the clock, 70-80 miles to do tomorrow and the 1st service is due at 180 mile. In light of the thrashing it's going to get tomorrow, I've booked it in for it's service on Wednesday. It'll be 40-50 odd miles short, but it'll be a good point for a check over and a new spark. Should be sorted on by the service! Cheers for your help.

It had its service today, at 146 mile. All was good with the bike.
The spark change has made a massive difference. At the first set of lights, it felt like it was gonna bog down and cut out, but then it just settled into idle nicely. Setting off is rapid now, so much so it caught me by surprise! With the NGK spark in it, it kind of made it into a different motor, it's so nimble and quick.
Thanks for your help guys! Ian.

NGK is the ONLY brand of sparkplug to use with the iridium being worth the extra money
