Today I bought my first scooter.....WOO HOO!!!! It does not have a trunk on it and I would like to have one. The dealer showed me a few styles including the "basic" ones that normally come on them. But he told me that those tend to end up making noise as being drove. Told me there are some really nice aftermarket ones that I can order that dont make noise at all and mount better. So my question to y'all is what trunks do you recommend? I will be hauling my lunch bag and purse to and from work everyday. Thanks Attachments:

Congratulations
Mine has the one it came with, the lock/latch is not very good. If you don't like messing with a iffy latch you might check out an upgrade.
Is it a 50 or a 150, what is the brand you got.

My former bike was a Lance Vintage (Znen) and came with a trunk however the latch was a sheet metal spring catch with a keyhole that you could use just about any key to open, give it a good bump with your fist (picture the Fonze) or if you wanted just drive over a bump to open it before you stopped.
Givi, CooCase, Saddleman cost a bit more but are well worth it.
I have the Givi which has a real key which opens the case or unlatches it from the mount so you can take it with you like luggage and it stays closed even at 90+ mph. Cobble stone streets that would pop the other case open are not a problem anyy more. The ability to remove the case with the same key that opens it has come in very hand more often than I originally thought. It was sturdy enough to mount a fishing rod holder on the side so I can just throw my tackle box in the case, pop the rod in the holder (I add a tent ball and loop bungie for a but added stability) and I am off fishing.

It looks like an off-road vehicle, doubt it would stand up to the rough dirt roads tho (plastic makes it look a bit cheep, not saying it is tho) when I first saw it I thought "cool! "

" Its very well built and I like it..Has a personality of it own and not a common blue or gray that blends in. We all have our preferences.

My Echarm came with a trunk which was great to store stuff but rattled and the hinges broke in less than a year . If you want a better trunk then get the Coocase from Greg like I did its metal lined and hardlined to where you can install a trunk alarm . Well I did not see it on his page but I plan on getting the Yumming trunk for my 2T here eshop.mainelyscooters.com/accessories/172-110

Parts for Scooters has the Yunming for $49.99 which is rated to hold a full face helmet and is removable with the key like the Givi and CooCase. I do not believe that the Givi 26 can hold a full face helmet while the CooCase 28 might just do it. partsforscooters.com/172-110_Yunming_Scooter_Top_Case?sc=31&category=132308I have the 35L Givi and it is sometimes limiting in its capacity. It has just enough room to store my full face modular helmet, gloves and riding jacket however if I run errands I need to plan my stops so that I pick up the smallest items first so I won't have to leave my helmet or parcels hanging outside the scooter while I shop. I will take the scooter down the Interstate to the Prime Outlets 50 miles away for a bit of shopping. At current gas prices along with the 2 tolls that comes to less than $10 while my van a 12 mpg would take a bit over 4 gallons of gas and cost me around $36 for the same run. Pating a few dollars more for a larger top case would increase the ability to save by limiting the times I would have to take the van for the extra capacity. I may consider soft saddle bags to be used only when absolutely needed as I don't want them etching the paint on the rear body panels and lowering fuel economy due to the extra drag.

If your still looking, consider a JC Whitney Universal Case. They're built decent, comes with a universal mount and won't bust the bank. I've used them in the past and they hold up well and it's simple to add some lights under the reflector if thats your thing.

Look like a Givi KnockOff but if they are using a decent ABS mix and are using a quick lock mount that snaps on and off with the key then why not. Odd that the Medium case costs almost twice what the Large does.

It is a sturdy unit and has not given me any trouble.
