So I have been looking to get a 150cc or 250cc scoot to ride around Atlanta. (Not on Highway) I have looked at this PCX150 powersports.honda.com/2013/pcx.aspx - However it is 2 to 3 times more than a China Scoot. I like the bigger feel of this scoot. Is there a China scoot that you would suggest me to buy or should I just pay up and get this? I have had two China Scoots ( Peace Sports ) and they ran pretty well for two or three years then kinda broke down. They still run but I would not go on a long ride on either.

Honda is way better quality but the parts will cost way more . That is a great scooter if you can afford it . For that much money you could get a 250cc Aprilia or used motorcycle . To me it makes more since to pay a lil extra upfront to get quality than buy a scooter that is dirt cheap but winds up being a money pit in replacing parts

Is there any higher quality China scoots to pick as a option. I don't mind changing parts and fluids to prep it.

(plus CF Moto is nicer than most Chinese stuff and parts are relatively easy to get.)

Well Hank the Scarabeo is the same price but with roughly 30cc more, and you can't fault the quality.

You kinda answered your own question there. You've had two China scoots already and they broke down on you. With what you paid for both and their repairs and upkeep you could have just bought the Honda in the first place and not worry about breaking down on a long trip. Like I always say on this site, unless you're willing to put in the labor to keep up on the higher maintenance needs of Chinese scooters, they're not going to save you money in the long run compared to just buying even a used Japanese scooter. I'm sure it wouldn't take all that much in terms of money to make your current scoots 100% reliable either but one thing it will take is a lot of work.

Honda is a goodie for reliability. If the cost is the issue, you may want to buy a used one since they can do well for tons of miles. CFMoto is less expensive and is one of the better Chinese scoots with the 2 year warranty, as mentioned in an earlier post. The engine, brakes, etc. and inner works are great. They do seem to be lacking in the "fit and finish" department though. You can read reviews on www.justgottascoot.com and that may help too. Above all, I say,"find the best/nicest/experienced mechanic dealer to work with in your area, and buy his/her brand". That's made all the difference with my choices.

I have ridden a Roketa 150cc Down i85 a couple times and it is a fun trip. I think about 200 miles. They are good scoots , you just have to maintain them, like anything else.

That's really the age-old question, isn't it?
I haven't bought a new scoot in a coupla years, but in that time I think Chinese products in other industries have really improved in quality. The basic design of the cheap China scoots is really pretty solid IMO. The only things lacking a few years ago were parts availability, production quality, & decent materials (i.e., fuel hoses that dissolved in fuel), and there have been great improvements in all those areas. The Chuanling factory that made my Motobravo seemed to have pretty high standards by model year 2008. A lot of the items in that wonderful tutorial on new scoot prep (from the amazing Scoot Dawgs) needed no attention. Nuts & bolts all tight, valve clearance perfect, idle perfect, non-soluble fuel lines, everything was great. The online dealer said the thing was all set up & tuned at the factory, but I didn't believe him. If that's any indication of a trend, I'd lean toward the China scoot. They come with generous ScootDawg support!
That said, there are a lot of used Yamaha Vino 125's in my area (Twin Cities) for around $1,500. It's an extremely good scoot. Don't let the 125 cc size fool you either. I'm 6'5", 320 lbs, I and ride mine on the freeway all the time. I bought it used with ~700 miles on it and some bumps & scrapes (after having been dropped) for $1,350. So far it's survived 2 bad accidents and 2 Minnesota winters without a complaint (except for plastics & easy-to-fix stuff). I think parts are cheap, even plastics. It's currently got ~8,000 miles on the clock. One thing I don't like is the fuel injection. Since I ride in the winter, occasional dead batteries are part of the game if I have to park outside. Kick-starting in the winter sucks, but kick-starting fast enough to get current to the fuel injection system is really hard to do. (Contrary to popular opinion, it's not impossible.) Instead of a kick starter they should come with a second battery you can take inside and keep warm and just plug it in for a jump start.
But I also owned a Chinese Motobravo 50cc, and I was in love with it! It's the only vehicle I've owned (including the Yamaha) that I felt I could understand completely (I felt that way, but it wasn't true... Thanks Dawgs!) and do any maintenance or repair needed, usually in an hour or so. I loved working on it, and I had that sucker tweaked perfectly! (Someone ran into me, and then someone else stole what was left of it. Long story...)
Given my luck with Minnesota Drivers, I'm having to consider crash-worthiness. Should my next one be disposable & easily replaceable? Should I buy one that can take a lickin' & keep on tickin'? Maybe Hot-lanta is a little safer than Minne-snow-ta, or maybe you're not foolish enough to ride at night with the drunks like I do.

Sounds to me like the Zuma 125 is what you need.....very very durable and great scoot in general. Kinda expensive but oh so worth the hassle free ride. I absolutely love mine.
just do it
