Got a new iron kit from autotech355... Has nice massive porting as compared the old one I had. But no matter what jet..# 70...74...80...85...90...it will run good for about 2 mins. 0-30 abrupt with a lil delay at 30 as the rpms come up. Then 30-52 GPS quickly. Plug chop looks good and caramel brown. But it seems as if..once the enricher shuts off...it just bogs...won't pull..barely goes..takes forever to hit 25mph and just seems very lean. So I am guessing a carb issue?? Also thought maybe air like in crank seals or intake gaskets..but I think if that was so..it would run the same whether the enricher was open or closed...due to vacuum leak.. No clue..but surely going nuts over here.. help? I don't think the drywall at my house can take much more of me bashing my head against it..

Start it up cold and ride it before it warms up for a sec, itll tell you if the enricher is a band aid or not. I see you said it runs good for 2 minutes so Im guessing youve tried that maybe? If it runs poorly after the auto choke is warmed up I would say you need bigger pilot and or main jet. If its got a long delay between speeds I would think some trans work might be needed. If there was a crank seal leak you usually have a weird idle also, if you feel frisky you could take the cvt cover off while its running and spray carb cleaner at it and take the fan shroud and fan off and spray stator side also. Or option B do a leak down test like you should always do after any engine work. Once you get a leak down tester youll never want to run an engine after rebuild again with out it. I think total cost on most testers to build is around 15-25$ depending what you might already have laying around. The most expensive part on the one I built was the pressure gauge at 12$.

That is what I do..start it cold and run it. The pause as it accelerates has always been there even when it was 50cc...just a 1-2 second delay. Starts and idles beautifully...even when the enricher kicks off and it bogs so bad you can barely move....if I let off the throttle it will idle very smoothly not missing a beat. A tiny touch of throttle when warmed up and it rolls forward..any more throttle than that and it bogs....with barely any power. Was thinking main jet was too small..but does it even with a #90 and old BBK was fine with a #85. Also it now has the stock pipe and stock airbox. Fuel flow form vac petcock is great...filter not plugged...float not stuck..main jet and idle jet are clean n clear. Carb has been disassembled and cleaned. But now I wonder if something is clogging the carb past the main jet..because as you said the enricher acts as a 'band aid' allowing it to run fine until it warms up.

Ok...just curious what jet size folks near sea level use in this setup..the one in my post...NOT what is below in my signature line area. This scoot is about to be.."Free to a good home"...

Ok..squish band is about literally 'zilch'..piece of thin wire solder about 22 gauge comes out the thickness of paper...in fact it broke off and fell inside engine so I had to suck it out with a vacuum cleaner. Cannot use my calipers cause the battery went dead. Allow me to be dumb for a moment....and ask.. I know you can add a base gasket to increase squish band but I don't want to take apart the whole thing..so could I add another head gasket instead?...use 2 instead of one.

When you change the base gasket you change the port timing and have to mill the top of the cylinder down to get back to deck height, if you want less compression/squish you add a head gasket, if its too much of a gap you mill the head down. Just make sure the head gaskets are the same material and use a thin coat of copper coat paint or whatever your weapon of choice is for non permanent bonding of 2 metals. On a side note that much squish on a vert mina is extremely close and I would check compression after seeing only a couple mills of squish 140psi+ is 98 octane+ only or youre going to lose a piston. Hell you may even lose a crank if its too much.
