When I hit the button I can hear the relay clicking but it's no longer sending juice to the starter... Wondering if anyone knows what the issue could be, maybe a fuse? Electric start on the steering column works.

Consider it a blessing...as those and the factory alarm system drain your battery when you scoot sets....even if the alarm is not set. I removed them on my scoots. Most are sealed units...some can be opened. I 'opened' a sealed one with a hammer and screwdriver just to see what was in it. There was a tiny relay inside that I can only assume was to energize the system when I hit the 'start' button on the key fob. So maybe the contacts are dirty...worn etc and need to be filed. Not sure if you can open it though to do that. Also it was surface soldered to the board...so it would be hard to replace. You say it will start with the key and ignition button...so the starter relay itself is obviously good. To be honest...not sure what to say or do...

some do have a build in fuse on the side True some do have a fuse...and maybe that is it. But the odd part is he can hear the relay 'click'..so it is getting juice...but?....hmmm This is one of those 'hands on' things where ya gotta be there to tinker I suppose. @snugglebunny Same here....at first it was fun. Come outta the store..be 50 feet away and see a person loading their car next to your scoot....so ya hit the button...then laugh yer ss off as they spin around to realize..NOBODY IS THERE!.... ;D But after draining my battery twice after all night at work....poof!..that thing was gone...

If you hear clicking it is your Solenoid, to determine if it is bad Jump the two terminals on the SOLENOID if it spins your starter replace the Solenoid. You can also try giving it a smack sometimes the contact inside gets stuck. Sam

Yep your correct I missed that last sentence, so what is clicking then is the alarm contact inside to pass the juice to the solenoid, works just like the solenoid.
So instead of giving the Solenoid a good whack give the Alarm box a good whack but not as hard a snugglebunny said..LOL Sam

It's all good, my main concern, and the reason I had used this method is because I dislike the keys hanging from the ignition while I'm driving because I've hit them with my knee before (and shut the scoot down lol and there's nothing doing with both hands on the bars), but anyhow... Since I have to take it apart to get a good look, I'll most likely take a look and if I can't find much of anything I'll just rip it and the silly alarm system OUT, more so because it will simplify the wiring in case of future issues.
And the heck with it, sounds like the perfect solution to me, thanks guys!

Careful now, removing that alarm could cause issues.... Research before tearig out wires. Is the Remote Battery OK??? Just a thought..... Good advice! Look close before yanking it out to make sure it does not leave any 'open' connections in your ignition system. As you will note if you compare one scoot of the same brand and model with an identical one...not everyone of them use the same color wiring or is even wired the exact same. It all depends on what color wire the Chinese have on hand that day...who wires it.....and where they got the components from...as nearly any company over there with an electrical or machine shop can...and does clone Honda and Yamaha parts.

I use a D ring to hold my keys and keep the ignition key on a separate ring in order to use it by itself

You can also put in an alarm that has sleep mode. After a certain length of time it "shuts down" until there is sufficient movement to awaken it, just don't hook up the remote start. (To be honest, I could never figure out why a scooter would reed remote start in the first place?)

Some alarms you have to put a jumper wire on two of the plugs for the Key On method to keep on working. That is because the Key On method goes through the Alarm Box. So if you unplug it or if it has a fuse and you take the fuse out make sure you check to verify turning on the key and hitting the start button still works. Sam
