I have had bad brakes for a while so I bought some pads. the rotor is in perfect shape, and everything works great but it wore out the pads in a few weeks, so i replaced them again, and again in a matter of a month... SO..... I got the set of hoca upgraded pads.. I havent got them in the big brown box truck yet, but as i was inspecting the rear system, the pads are not all the way down over the rotor, the top 10-15% of the pads are hanging off the top of the rotor.... I have inspected everything a half dozen times and everything is installed correctly, nothing appers to be bent or broken. I checked the orriginal pads against the new sets and they are identical.... not dimentional changes. so this explains why they wore so fast i guess...
WHAT would make the caliper sit too high? Theres no adjusments I can see, so im thginking i will have to drill a new hole for the bolt to go thru to set it lower...
btw its a jonway 150cc M80 with front rear disk brakes and abs up front.. And that abs crap is just a joke...i have tried to lock up the brakes and they lock up,,, theres no abs to it,...but thats just a statemnet..... i dont care about abs, just think its funny they put it on there to add cool options even though it completely non functional

ABS on cheap scooters is nothing more than a pressure limit valve that is meant to prevent a front lockup. The idea is no matter how hard you squeeze the lever the limit valve will not let the front wheel stop turning. True ABS senses the spin of the wheel many times every second and reduces brake pressure automatically to prevent lockup.

Pennsylvania stops registration of Chinese made scooters - Is Ohio next? Whatever they did to the brakes in terms of a modification so they could put the ABS sticker on is actually dangerous, not only is it misleading riders into a false sense of safety but it also reduces pressure in the most critical moments... Then again if I'm panicking I will likely hit the brakes so hard that lock-up is inevitable, but neither the ABS nor the DOT and EPA Approved stickers are actually in compliance. These scooters are not being sold in your home state and thus can meet ANY Dot/Epa requirements (such as Chinese ones) which may or may not comply with your state... And if you're smart and you want to see for yourself just test-brake it at LOW speed on gravel and you will see, the wheels do, indeed, lock up. I'm not making this up. It's a real shame, they have done us all a great disservice and now the DMV's can easily take our privilege to drive these scooters away, they are not US DOT/EPA approved, those stickers mean nothing, the GY6 engine on these pollutes worse than a car and it's only the beginning. Some states have already refused to register Chineses Scooters on exactly those grounds. Yes sir, these scooters are, indeed, cheap. At the cost of safety and the environment, we get to ride. And I may not have gotten the wording perfect, but here's the rest: www.clevelandscooters.com/id60.html
