I have to say that my Jonway made by Shanghai Shenke Motorcycle company impressed me tonight. As I said in another thread my Burgman is a little sick so I decided to run the Jonway tomorrow I went to start it after its been sitting for over a month and at first it was clear the battery was not charged but after a little rest the short starter bursts fired her up and she was purring like a kitten after less than a minute. The lights gradually grew brighter and she idles right nice. I think it actually fired after it hit TDC on the compression stroke the first or second time. I threw the charger on her and I will do preflight tonight and its on. I'm actually looking forward to the ride. Is she a Burgman? No but she's a good little mule.
So here is another thread of Love for the Chinese scoot. Call me what you want I have always reminded you guys I own both...

Shenke is a pretty good factory. Side by side their scooters are better than most of the other Chinese made scooters I've seen.

Great to hear! Another trick, just in case you don't feel like charging the battery right away. Before you need the scoot, just put the charger on the battery, and start the scoot with the charger on. Take the charger off, and Ride away! While riding, the battery gets charged, so you don't really need a battery tender, especially not if you ride more than once a month!
The battery tender can sometimes help getting a few extra amps to the bike, so that it can start well.

may be possible... Mine is actually a 12V battery with high cranking amps, that can be used to start, but also to charge. So it's a 2 in 1.

well thats the difference then i use, very rarely tho, a small battery tender, and they all said to disconnect it 1st before attempting to start or id either blow it up or F up my electrics, so i always disconnect it

A "charger" needs to be disconnected. If in a pinch mine does have a higher setting to provide enough for a start with in a few minutes, but it does need to be removed prior to starting.
