I think we need a thread about Chinese scooters and the reasons we love them. I for one love mine because it gives me good service for a good price. I enjoy maintaining it and modifying it. In short it gives me a lot of bang for the buck! 9000 Kilometers and counting with no problems. Anyone else?

I'm a hobbiest and I enjoy tinkering. After a spinal cord injury made it tough to hold up my Harley I bought a little scoot online and rode the wheels off the thing. With average care it served me well and it's still running out there.
Now that I think about it the old Hog required far more wrench turning than the china scoot. I love my china scoots, lots of bang for the buck.

i love mine because...... it only cost me $400 i've put about maybe $100 into parts( extra brake lights, saddle bags etc don't count, cause the scoot doesn't need those to run) i have over 8,000 miles on it saved 1,000's on gas and insurance costs
and just cause it FUN AS HELL TO RIDE

I loved my 2009 Znen 150, but I quickly outgrew it. The engine and drivetrain were great.

I just wanted to show my China girl too. I paid 949.00 ,she's a 2011 Tao Tao 150. I ride it almost everyday and people may not believe it but she gets 97 MPG and that miles not kilometers. I live in what must be one of the best spots to scooter there is, Saint Augustine Florida.. A scooter friendly town. I ride the oldest streets in the oldest city in America, I travel up and down the coast from Jacksonville to Daytona on A1A getting my kicks on route 66. So much fun!!! whats not to love.

Considering buying a Renegade Galaxy 50 for $899 from greenearthscooters.com anyone have any thoughts on the company and/or thoughts on the scooter? My other option is a TaoTao GT-5 from provenpowersports.com I'm open to any other suggestions. Would like to stick with 49cc/50cc under $1000 price range. This will be my main source of transportation so reliability is important.

It's a plus, until I realized that the closest dealer they list is 4-5 hours away, bummer.

For $850 all in, and a few oil changes, my Tao races at 48MPH past most competition, now for 2k+ miles; and still going strong! Not a single major maintenance or fix yet, (just oil change and spark plug gap); and a foot peg adjustment.
I also love my Tao because it gets 99+MPG in winter, and 105+ MPG in summer (especially on long rides).
I'll love it even more once I cross the 5k miles mark, and even more crossing the 8k mile mark! (cross my fingers)
