exact same thing happens here all the time. I noticed that the handlebars were in the locked position. Thats how people steel them by just lifting the front wheel and loading it to a truck. Happens alot at walmarts here. i usually always try to get a thick chain and lock it to a post and use one of those Disc locks with a alarm

If they want it badly enough they slide a metal bar by the back wheels and another by the front and four guys can lift a very heavy soot right into a waiting van or pickup truck. CHAIN IT!

ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS ALWAYS lock your scoot my friend Hank went into a store for 5 mins. came out and the scoot was gone. im sure he was sad, but it gave him the excuse to get his APRIL --lol---but still
i have one of those cable (in plastic) thats what i use for quick trips into the store. sure you can cut it with a good bolt cutter. but that will draw attention
anything more than a few mins. the scoot gets the 3/4 inch link chain and the hugh master lock. aint cutting that with a bolt cutter

Did you notice how the crooks walked around the scoot and brushed against it?....I think they were checking for an alarm, and it's probably a safe bet that if one had gone off they would have moved on.

a friend in MB had her scoot stolen it had a alarm etc people saw the people stealing it but the crooks only said 'i lost the keys so we are taking it back to my place.
people watched the 3 guys pick it up and put it in a truck no one bothered to get the license plate

I just moved so i no longer have my nice big garage that was attached to the house I have my scoot chained down with a huge chain and a brinks lock and its covered with the alarm on even though the alarm seems to drain my battery. My stepson doesn't lock his up or lock the wheel his is beat up since he has wrecked it so many times I tell him to chain it up he won't . Even with the chain lock and alarm I'm still paranoid, with my sons scoot just there for the picking maybe they would bypass mine and swipe his since he's asking for it lol

Size does not matter. At Daytona Bike Week a few years back a co-worker had his $35,000 BigDog Motorcycle BullDog stolen in broad daylight right in front of the pub he was in with his riding buddies which was on a busy street. He went home that day as a seat cover on the back of one of the single ladies bike. The BullDog is just shy of 800 lbs and had a brake lock on it.
