I have a 150 cc GY6 scooter that will not start. I can't seem to figure out what the problem is, and I have tried everything I know how to do. The lights and horn all work, but the electric start button does nothing, not even a sound.
I am able to start the scooter by shorting the terminals on the relay, so I don't think that the starter is the problem. The battery is not new, but I did charge it fully before trying.
I had a new relay, so I replaced the relay. I verified that the brake switches work, and the button itself seems functional as well.
My experience with scooters is rather limited, so I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions.
Thanks in advance guys!

Yes, the scooter will kick start, though it is generally not very easy to get it to do so.

A likely culprit, or at least the thing you should check next, is the switch itself. Tear down the switch pod and check the solder connections on the switch. If they look ok then short across the terminals and see if the starter fires up. If it does, you've got a bad switch.

Double check where it plugs in and move it around a bit testing to see whether you get any action

An added thought also is to check the wiring for any signs of wear or or looseness, broken wiring (sometimes unseen under wire insulation, mostly near connections but not always) or bare wire making contact with the frame.

You know you have to click the button twice and don't hold it, like tap-tap.
