I have a 2008 SYM HD200. Lately I need a jump to start after riding for a while. The battery checked out OK when tested. I checked the voltage at idle; it was 13.8 volts. I then twisted the throttle and the voltage dropped to 12.3 volts. I repeated this sequence several times with the same result. Battery is keep on a battery tender when in the garage overnight.
Any thoughts why the voltage would drop with the increased rpms? I would expect the opposite.

check the ac output of the stator .

Charging system malfunction, it could be as simple as a visual inspection may reveal a wire come loose, while there inspect the fuse, also check all those electrical connections and make sure each and every one of them is "seated."

I would suspect the voltage regulator or a loose plug

Voltage Regulator. 90% of the time this is what causes this problem.

I checked the stator and it was fine. I had the battery rechecked...this time it tested bad. Put a new battery in today and all is well.
Thanks for your input

How to test the regulator other than it has flow ? I do not know the volts and amps required and I am sure it varies with amount of poles in the stator

I'd presume there's a charging issue. Disconnect the battery, and the scooter stalls (which should not be). Try revving the bike to 3-4k rpm, and keep it there. does the voltage come up, or stay low?
The spark plugs can drain the battery voltage, when the stator does not charge them.
