I just changed out my rear rim on my Vog 260 after hitting a devastating pothole which bent the rim and even cracked one of the spokes. I put it all together and went for a test ride, and then checked it out to see that the rear axle nut and the spacer/washer guy that goes under the nut fell off. Here's where I'm talking about: I know where to buy the nut, but what is the spacer? Or is it a bushing? It sort of looks like a bearing but it was solid, sort of like a washer from a garden hose, only much bigger and thicker. Here is a roketa diagram posted recently - is it part #37?? roketa.com/product/parts_detail.jsp?partId=30732&partName=ENGINEWill something bad happen if I ride without it? everthing seems locked in by the swing arm. thanks in advance, and happy holidays to all!!!

Will something bad happen if I ride without it? yes, you can destroy your rim and axle. if it holds together long enough it could get you killed. the "washers" or "spacers" enable the nut to be tightened without jamming the bearings while also spacing the swingarm plate and rim. they have to match what was OEM on the bike. do not ride without these parts installed.

It looks like a self locking nut with a matching bushing with indentations to automatically lock the nut in place. These are generally considered consumables and one time use items so they both should be replaced whenever you remove them.
Tightening them to spec using a tourque wrench is pretty important too. At about $5 for the set they are cheap insurance against failure.
