The air box on my Kymco Sting acts like a restrictor or something....? it has a air tight seal on it, but if you take it off and rev the motor it will bog down after 2-3 seconds, put it back on and it will rev till it blows? any ideas? New to 2 strokes, didn't run air boxes on my past 4T's, now im scared to put a cone/mesh filter on it

well with any motor you have to have the proper amount of fuel and air mix for a motor to run correctly, so when you take the airbox off it allows to much air in for the fuel that you carb is giving, so it bogs and doesn't run correctly

Yeah. but I've never seen it before is why I am wondering Lol. You can just pop an air filter off a 4T and run all day, May be lean, but will still run |

2t are a lot more touchy then 4t thats why everything is tuned as they would say in reference to 2ts tuned pipe tune carb tuned cvt, every thing need to be adjusted just right. i remember when i first got my 2t cpi and i tired to slap a open air filter and just ride off like i did on my 4t scooter, didnt happen i was freaking out i thought i messed my scooter up well three years later and a lot of tunning and i still dont know everything and still have trouble getting everything to click just right but when you get everything right they are a blast
