Can anyone tell me how to change the gear oil in a Bali 250? I can only find one bolt witch i assume is the filling port. The black cover, covers up everything else down there. I just purchased this 2008 model with 600 miles on it, previous owner told me he has not changed out any fluids since he purchased it and it been in his garage for years. Any help would be greatly appreciated! [img src="[/img] www.freeimagehosting.net/t/lr15y.jpg"] www.freeimagehosting.net/lr15ywww.freeimagehosting.net/pdpf5

Check this out on some 250s you have to take the CVT cover off to access the Oil fill and or Oil drain screws.

Your welcome, yea I have seen some with the Fill screw outside the cvt cover but the drain screw is behind the CVT cover. Don't know why they could not just put the fill hole and drain hole outside the CVT cover. Maybe just for looks to make it more clean looking is my thought.

Ya, the spot to drain and fill gear oil, is behind the crankcase. It is pretty easy to get too. I generally fill it until it leaks out the top and than put screw back at it drips some.

For the CVT, fill until it leaks out,
For the engine, fill and use dipstick on a cold engine. Don't screw dipstick in while measuring!

I don't know about the bali 250 but on my 250B linhia The drain for the gear oil is under the cvt cover and the tech rep at linhai said the fluid capacity for the gear box is 300ml or 10oz that's what I have in mine and when I first drained it out that's how much came out. I change mine every time I change the engine oil. maybe a little over kill but gear oil is pretty cheap until you get into the synthetic. hope you get it done and have fun riding because that's what it is all about the ride.
