Hey everyone a couple more stupid questions from NewScooterer
So when I come to a stop at a red light for a while then the light turns green and I give it gas for the first 2 feet, or so my scoot will ride really rough, but after that first couple feet she rides smooth as could be again. I do need to adjust my valves... So could that be the problem? If not is this normal? Just curious to me is doesn't seem like a huge concern, but I could be wrong. Please fill me in, and does this happen to anyone else?
Thanks again!
Ian

Probably the initial burst of air or fuel gets your CDI out of timing (or something)..or whatever... Other scoot dawgs will be able to elaborate on that better than I.
Just try to accelerate more gently, instead of going full throttle. It should help.
Though I do believe it has to do with the fuel/air ratio in your carburetor though!

It all depends on what you mean rides rough. If it sputters or hesitates it is your carb fuel ratio mixture, if it vibrates or shakes it is probably your clutch slipping. So need little more specific detail on what you mean by rides rough.

It shakes a lot. It does feel a lot like learning how to drive a clutch for teh first time in a car.. Dah dah dah ( shaking ) then smooth.

;D I think you are talking about the moment you give it throttle and the engine revs up, there is a hesitation before the clutch engages. This is a normal thing with all 4 stroke GY6 engines. They all engage this way. ;D Attachments:

This is happening on my scoot as well. I Purchased a new Roketa 150 in July. It has "jerked" on takeoff since Day 1, but appears to be getting worse. It also seems to jerk more after the engine has warmed up, and when warm, slowly opening the throttle from stop really "bucks" the scooter. I believe this is just the clutch slipping off the bell housing. Hoping my stock clutch is just a crappy one. I plan on taking the CVT cover off, and replacing the entire clutch assembly with an aftermarket one. Anyone have recommendations? I'll keep you posted but it might take a while for the reply, pretty frieken cold in the garage right now

I changed my gear oil twice and the "bucking" stopped completely.... I also lithium greased my boss bolt areas in the CVT and by the spring in my clutch. Like you said when it was warmed up 10-15 miles away from home. When coming to a stop light it would buck and shake the sh!t out of my scooter.... Almost has if the tire was lockin up and unlocking super quick... But like I said changed my gear oil TWICE... Just because I broke my drain oil bolt and wanted to get all the metal pieces out. It worked though. So my advice would be to change your gear oil an see if that helps and grease those area's good luck and hope it works. I know how you feel and it's annoying and nerve raking.
