Ok guys so I'm having a problem with the scooter that my grandpa had in the garage for some time now.
Kickstart: When you go to press down it= A: Catches and goes down. B: Catches and locks in place. C: Grinds against gears inside. I am no mechanic but my pa is, sadly he knows nothing of these things. nor do I.
Wiring: it looks as if somebody had rigged it to run on kickstart only and not battery. There is a white/clear plug thing the has colored wires go in, and on the oposite side it has 1 green wire the goes in and loops back into a spot directly beside it.
I just moved from another state and dont have a vehicle to get around on right now other than this so I'm really depending on you guys help.
Also, I need to know where to check and changethe oil in this thing.
BONUS INFO: 2008 Shanghai Shenke Motorcycle co. Printed on the back it is labled "Import Cars "R" Us"
Looking forward to your help everyone.
Thanks, Trazer

Okay, wen and bought a new battery a lil bit ago, put it in, to my surprise...my gramps broke the key off in it... -___- he never told me till just now. Will the lights, etc turn on if the battery is in without the key turned on? and any tips on getting it to turn on with like a screwdriver or something?

In order to start it with the electric start you have to squeeze a brake lever while you push the button. That plug connector you mentioned is for an alarm system to plug into. The loop is there so the kill switch and key switch will shut the motor off.

Thank you for that bit of information Fox.
Me and 1 of my gramps friends got it to start up and run, but since the key switch is bad we jumped it from the bottom. He tried to wire it so that you didn't need a key to start it but he melted some wires now im screwed. If you all have a place where I can see how to re-wire the whole thing that would be great!

No...
You don't have to re-wire these to start and run them without a key. Simply turn the red ignition switch on the right handlebar to ON. And double-click the remote start switch. Voila, you can now operate the scooter without the key.
