Open the cvt cover, see if anything is binding up. You can drain the oil and see if there are any particles of metal in the oil. I would open the cvt to start.

Could be a busted valve if it stops at tdc.

BUMMER, How big of rings are they, if small like 1/2 in diameter it could be threads either from the spark plug or the threads inside the head that the spark plug screws into. Or maybe something got sucked into through the intake Valve.

Yep I think it a valve seat, I also think it's a good sign that the engine is working really hard pulling that trike, Id replace the head, and get at least a 72 BBK on it.

Nope. That is either one or the other or both of the timing chain guides.
They get sideways on the tensioner for some reason and the chain eats into the upper one, once that breaks up the chain starts working on the tensioner and it is only a matter of time before the lower one isn't far behind, if your timing is out which it sounds like then likely the upper one is completely destroyed and it would be wise to replace the tensioner, too.
And if you're replacing the upper guide we replace the lower one as a matter of principle.
The good news is it may not be terribly expensive in the parts department... Unfortunately if the engine doesn't turn AFTER you've removed the camshaft then you'll need to find the piece(s) of guide that are down in the engine somewhere binding...
All in all you're into $30 $40 or $50 in parts and an afternoon on the light DIY side, if you're handy with tools and can follow instructions it took me a good afternoon... Or it could run into several hundred dollars if you have to take it to a shop and all sorts of things come up.
The bad news... It's an extensive repair requiring knowledge of the interior workings of the internal combustion engine since the camshaft and tdc-related timing issues are involved, depending on what all got cooked it could run into $100-$200 of parts but hopefully it's just the guides and the tensioner plus a gasket set, which is relatively inexpensive...
In some cases it is likely cheaper to drop in a new $320 gy6 but first you'll need to find out what is wrong with it because again you might get away with a $40. At the same rate if you're looking at buying a whole new engine it might be worth trying to fix it yourself anyway since you already know the worst case scenario.
I've had this one happen so I know all about it, I've done the cylinder head gasket and camshaft and timing chain guide and tensioner job before so if you need further instruction let me know, there exist more tricks to it but a search will turn things up as well (which is how I found out most of what I needed).
